City Clerk sits in his window on the quiet dark corridor in the Records Office of the Capitol City.

City Clerk yawns.

Anmyn enters the city government building, wishing that Mytag hadn't been so tired that she felt obliged to send him off to rest.

Anmyn repeats his instructions over to herself as she searches for the Records office.

Anmyn ends up in a largely deserted and poorly lighted corridor.

Anmyn does zlin a very bored person up ahead.

Anmyn: Excuse me?

Anmyn: ~~ polite request for attention ~~

City Clerk focuses on Anmyn.

Anmyn: I'm looking for some information.

City Clerk rouses himself from his lethargic slump.

City Clerk: What kind of information can I get for you today?

Anmyn: Well, I'm running a sort of credit check on some agricultural companies.

Anmyn: I'd like to know their investors, actually.

City Clerk blinks several times.

Anmyn: I was told that you have such records here?

City Clerk: Yes.

Anmyn looks at the clerk like an appealing porcelain doll.

City Clerk looks back at Anmyn like a basset-hound shaped beanbag.

City Clerk: [or maybe an old, sagging bulldog]

City Clerk laboriously gets out a pad of forms, tears one off, and puts it on a clipboard.

City Clerk: Please fill this out.

City Clerk: Your name and address here, the companies' names and locations here....

Anmyn takes the clipboard and tries to make out the small and blurred print in the dim light.

Anmyn writes "Anmyn ambrov Naros, Householding Naros" and lists the firms competing most directly with Naros, along with one or two out-T based firms that Racknie said handled artichokes.

Anmyn returns the clipboard to the clerk.

Anmyn: Here. I'd be ever so grateful if you can find out how these companies are funded.

Anmyn: It's such a complicated thing--I wouldn't know where to start.

Anmyn: ~~ admiration for the Clerk's competence ~~

Anmyn does admiration very well.

City Clerk looks blinky and sheepish with all the attention.

City Clerk: It'll be just a few minutes.

City Clerk shuffles off into the stacks.
