see note 1

Mytag picks it up and eats it.

Mytag puts three spoonfuls of sugar in his tea, takes a sip and puts it down, poking a face.

Mytag puts another two spoonfuls of sugar in and stirs it.

D'cor walks into the cafeteria.

Mytag sips his tea and nods happily at the level of sweetness.

D'cor is wondering where his Donor is this time, and hoping that she won't be like that once he passes turnover.

Eliza sees D'cor come in and tries to make herself small and unnoticeable behind Mytag.

Mytag sees D'cor come in.

D'cor zlins Eliza, and wonders briefly what she is trying to do, then decides not to worry about it.

Mytag: Ah, here is a Channel you can talk to. [to Eliza]

Mytag thinks. "D'cor, isn't it? The new Channel?"

Eliza nods. "But I'm sure he doesn't want to be bothered, Mytag."

Mytag looks at her oddly.

D'cor walks over to the table and waits for some acknowledgement from his Donor.

Mytag: What a strange thing to say, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. [Louder, to D'cor:] Would you mind joining us, Hajene?

Eliza looks up at him.

Eliza: Morning D'cor. Did you sleep well?

Jor-El waits for the person who just arrived to be introduced to him.

Eliza gets up and goes around to him.

D'cor: I was reading most of the night, actually.

Eliza: ~support~ Hajene D'cor, this is Jor-El. He is interested in becoming a Donor.

Eliza worries that he might have been reading bad reports about her. She is feeling just a tad paranoid.

Jor-El: Jor-El, pleased to meet you.

D'cor zlins Jor-El.

Eliza is aware that she should be doing something to "buffer" D'cor from the newbie's field, but blowed if she can think what.

D'cor: [Softly] Please Eliza a little less support, think about an animal or something will you?

Eliza thinks 'oh no! not more bunnies and deer!'

Alea walks into the cafeteria and goes to get some food.

Eliza sighs and wonders what she can possibly do wrong next.

D'cor starts to zlin the new person again when he notices the Farris field. "Hello, Alea."

Alea pauses and sees the channel from V'lar.

Alea: Good morning, D'cor.

Alea moves over to their table.

Eliza looks miserable.

Alea: Hello, Eliza, Mytag.

Alea: May I join you?

Mytag gets up.

Alea is starving, as usual.

Mytag: Well, please excuse me, but I have to get to work.

D'cor: Certainly I was just about to get something to eat.

Jor-El looks at Alea, and wonders who she is.

Alea lifts an eyebrow at Mytag.

Mytag smiles at Alea, picks up his tray, and leaves.

Alea: Of course.

Alea looks back at the table and smiles at the newcomer.

Alea: I'm Alea Farris ambrov Zeor. Nice to meet you.

D'cor walks over to the food tables and starts loading up a tray.

Jor-El: likewise, my name is Jor-El.

Alea seats herself when no offer is forthcoming.

Eliza stays with D'cor and tries not to help.

Eliza thinks maybe she could support him better if she was in another room.

Alea: Hello, Eliza.

Alea ~~ hunger ~~

Alea: How are you today?

Eliza thinks, maybe down the end of the hall. Or outside on the pavement, or even down by the lake. Maybe at the Ferry Building.

Eliza comes back to earth with a crash.

Alea puts her fruit into her grain cereal and stirs it up.

Eliza: Oh I'm fine, just fine, Alea. Fine, fine.

D'cor: [Softly] Thank you Eliza, you are learning. I know it's hard but even in the last couple of days you have improved.

Eliza: How are you? And the baby?

Eliza half smiles at him then worries that that might have been too much.

Alea notes the exchange going on between Eliza and 'her channel' and is very happy to see someone taking time to work with her.

Alea: Everything is fine. Just fine.

Alea: So, tell me, Jor-el. Are you new here?

Alea thinks he looks familiar but can't quite place him.

Jor-El: Yes, I was in here the other day making a donation, I'm looking to become a Donor.

Eliza: Good, good.

Eliza: [sigh]

Alea glances at D'cor wishing he was a bit higher level so her field would be more stimulated. ~~ oh well ~~

D'cor finishes loading his tray up with food and head's back to the table.

Alea stirs her cereal and takes a bite.

Eliza lags along behind him.

Alea ~~ deliciously yummy ~~

Alea ~~ mouth waters ~~

Alea [tummy growls]

Eliza wonders if Mytag left any sugar for Alea.

Eliza is glad that Alea is there, she is too scared to even try to make D'cor eat.

D'cor is affected by Alea's field, and so has loaded his tray up about twice high as Simes normally do.

Alea looks oddly at Eliza and motions for her to eat.

Alea: You really should, Eliza.

Alea: Gens should eat regularly and healthily.

D'cor: Please, Eliza, relax a bit.

Alea: I am always starved in the morning, as you know. And it's a good idea to eat slowly so the Sime can catch up.

Alea: A good way to stimulate their appetite.

Alea smiles at D'cor.

Eliza strains hard to relax.

D'cor: Especially under a Farris field.

Eliza: I'm not hungry, Alea.

Eliza wonders what Jor-El is making of all of this.

Alea chuckles at D'cor.

Alea: True.

Alea: You'll drive your channel crazy during work later... and he'll have to come feed you then.

Alea: That's fine, though, if your channel doesn't mind.

D'cor: [To Jor-El] Now Jor-El, what made you decide to become a Donor?

Alea looks at Jor-El.

Alea: Oh!

Alea: Great!

Jor-El: Well, I donated the other day, and I felt something that I hadn't experienced before.

D'cor takes the opportunity to zlin Jor-El while Eliza isn't concentrating on him.

Alea takes another bite of her cereal, savoring the taste, thinking how wonderful it is to hear another story of someone wanting to be a Donor.

Jor-El: ~calm~

Eliza swings her legs under the table.

D'cor: Had you donated before?

Eliza swings them too far and accidentally kicks Jor-El.

Jor-El: No, that was my first time.

D'cor: ~genuinely curious~

Jor-El flinches from the pain.

Eliza: Ooops, sorry.

Jor-El rubs his leg.

D'cor flinches slightly as Jor-El reacts to the kick, but doesn't bother saying anything to Eliza.

Jor-El: No, that's all right, I'm sure you didn't mean it.

Alea finishes off her cereal.

Alea shakes her head patiently at Eliza.

D'cor: [D'cor has being eating more or less mechanically while this has being going on.]

Eliza stops swinging her legs.

Eliza stands up suddenly.

Eliza: You know, I think I will get something to eat.

Eliza: Would you like anything yet, Jor-El?

Jor-El: I'll just have some tea, thank you.

Eliza heads over to get something to eat, and another cup of tea for Jor-El.

D'cor being no longer under the influence of a hungry Gen field stops and stares at his plate, looking mildly disgusted with how much food is still on it.

D'cor: [and looks even more disgusted once he works out how much he ate]

Eliza returns with some toast and two teas and puts one of them down in front of Jor-El.

D'cor: Thank you Eliza.

Jor-El starts to sip on his tea.

Jor-El: Thank you.

D'cor twirls a tentacle around the cup, but doesn't actually pick it up and start drinking.

Eliza takes a bite of toast

Jor-El: would it be at all possible to watch a Donor at work?

D'cor picks up his cup and takes a sip.

Eliza almost chokes

Alea crawls out of the cab, full tummy, and ready to talk to Snake. 2

D'cor: Why yes... I suppose you could.

D'cor: [D'cor does not sound 100% happy with the decision]

Eliza tries to flatten down an impending sense of doom.

Alea stretches, enjoying the fact that it's not freezing cold, even if it is clouded over.

D'cor: Eliza would you be happy to let Jor-El watch you work?

Eliza looks at D'cor with eyes that are almost completely round.

Alea is hoping it is early enough in the morning to catch Snake before she goes back out to work with her other Donor.

Eliza: Errr sure, if that's okay with you?

Alea goes up to the Ferry Building and signals.

Jor-El notices the change in both D'cor and Eliza, is now not certain if he did the correct thing.

Toi Toi opens the door.

Toi Toi: Hello? Oh, it's you.

Alea smiles brightly.

Alea: Good morning, Toi Toi.

Toi Toi: I suppose you want to come in now.

Alea: How are you this beautiful cloudy morning?

Toi Toi lets Alea in.

Alea: Thank you!

D'cor: Ok then, as soon as you two have finished your breakfast then we can start the shift.

Alea waddles into the room.

Toi Toi closes the door.

Eliza pushes the remaining toast to the side.

Eliza: I'm not hungry anyway.

Alea: You're looking fine this morning.

Alea smiles again and goes over to the banana couch and sits down.

D'cor: [Then in Simelan] Eliza, I'm happy enough to do it, just promise me that you will think about something else other than me if I tell you to.

Toi Toi: Which is it this time? Sky, or Her?

Alea: My cousin, if she's available.

Eliza wonders what would happen if she kicked him.

Toi Toi troops up to the third floor.

Eliza wonders what would happen if she slits her wrists.

Eliza: Sure.

Alea stretches back on the couch sighing in comfort.

Eliza: Whatever you say, D'cor.

Toi Toi returns after some time.

Delivery Boy signals at the door.

Toi Toi: Go on up. [to Alea]

Alea sighs... and then sits up shocked as she notes two outrageous things in the lobby as well.

Toi Toi goes to the door.

Toi Toi opens it.

Alea: Grapes....

Toi Toi: Hello, can I... oh, a delivery.

Delivery Boy: Delivery for Hajene Wise Snake.

Alea: And an... an Orange bondage chair?

Delivery Boy: Sign here, please.

Alea gapes unable to believe what she is seeing..

Toi Toi looks around suspiciously to see what is being delivered, before she signs anything.

Delivery Boy hands her the clip board.

Toi Toi has learned her lesson after the giant grapes.

Jor-El: So how did you become a Donor, Eliza?

Alea suddenly remembers the straps on the banana and leans down to check... and gapes.

Alea: I had no idea Snake....

Alea shakes her head.

Alea: You find out something new about your family every day.

Alea stands and heads toward the stairs.

Eliza: I sort of fell into it, actually.

Delivery Boy has on the wagon a foot rest made of red rubber.

Toi Toi: What the....

Alea climbs the three floors toward Wise Snake.

Toi Toi looks at it a bit closer.

Jor-El: How's that?

Toi Toi: Ugh... more furniture.

Toi Toi signs for it.

Delivery Boy: Don't ask me. I only deliver them.

Delivery Boy: Here is a card.

Toi Toi: What is that one? A raspberry?

Card: Saw this, thought of you, Richard.

Toi Toi: [not really trying to figure it out, just disgusted]

Toi Toi hands the clipboard back.

Toi Toi looks at the card and sighs.

Toi Toi: It figures.

Eliza: I came here for help, and just never sort of left.

Toi Toi: Ok, put it over here by the, uh, orange.

Delivery Boy: Beats me.

Delivery Boy puts it by the orange where it clashes beautifully.

Alea gains the third floor and heads down the hall toward Snake's office.

Jor-El: What sort of help did you need?

D'cor finishes his tea. "Shall we go see if there are any customers waiting for us?"

Eliza looks uncomfortable.

Eliza is pleased at D'cor's interruption.

Eliza: Sure!

Alea gets to Snake's door and signals.

Toi Toi sits down again and tries not to look at anything in front of her desk.

Wise Snake: Come in.

Alea goes in, smiling.

Alea: How are you and Rapol today, Snake?

Eliza follows D'cor into the lobby.

Wise Snake nods.

Jor-El follows Eliza and D'cor, curious as to why Eliza didn't answer his last question.

Wise Snake: I'm fine, and you?

D'cor looks around the lobby nervously, trying to see if there are any nutcases there today.

Wise Snake remembers Alea showing up only briefly and running off again... twice.

Thwocky is waiting to donate.

Thwocky clutches his hat, turning it around and around in his fingers.

Alea: Fine. Just fine.

D'cor sees a gen sitting on one of the couches, and grabs the first lot of paperwork.

D'cor: [after discovering that the paperwork is for an elderly Gen women, D'cor checks and then grabs what he hopes is the right lot of paperwork]

Alea: Tell me about the renovations, Snake. How are they coming?

Thwocky is a middle aged guy wearing an out-of style suit and carrying a straw hat.

Thwocky looks a bit.... odd.

D'cor zlins Thwocky to check his mental state, trying to see if it is as odd as his general appearance.

Eliza fidgets.

Wise Snake: Well, we just put out the calls for bids on the various restoration work and infrastructure upgrades.

Alea: Oh, that's wonderful.

Wise Snake: We'll be taking bids for the next 4-5 weeks, then we can get down to trying to select the contractors.

Alea: That long?

Alea: I had no idea bidding and choosing would take that long.

Wise Snake means 'we' in the sense of, the general contractor and the consultant will pick them and she'll only put her blessing on it.

Wise Snake: Well, it's a fairly major project.

Alea: Yes, it is.

Wise Snake is hoping to somehow arrange for Richard to be paying for most of it.

Thwocky seems a bit tense, but not nervous.

Alea: And what about the restoration of furniture? What um... will you be buying for that?

D'cor walks over to the customer hoping that Eliza and Jor-El will tag along behind.

Alea is trying to tactfully bring the conversation around to what Snake has downstairs.

Wise Snake: It's a little early to be thinking about furniture.

Alea: Really?

Eliza stick close, not too close, while pretending to be in an entirely different town.

Wise Snake: After all, furniture suitable to the building's original purpose would hardly be suitable for a living and treatment space.

Alea: Well, I noticed all of the uh... new furniture downstairs.

Alea: I see.

Wise Snake: Ah... that's Rapol's.

Jor-El looks at the customer.

Alea ~~ surprise ~~~

D'cor: Hello, I am Hajene D'cor. Are you here to have a donation taken? [starts to glance through the paperwork].

Thwocky: Yes.

Alea ~~ interest and curiosity quickly wiped away ~~

Thwocky wonders if this guy is new or something.

Eliza looks glazed eyed as she walks through the meadows of her mind.

Wise Snake wonders about the surprised interest and curiosity, then shrugs.

Wise Snake: It will all have to be put in storage during the renovation, of course.

Alea: Oh, of course.

Alea: How long do you suppose it'll take them to renovate this old place?

Alea: You know, I was walking around the other day and some parts of it look great, considering... while others just aren't in too good a shape.

Thwocky notes D'cor is having a hard time finding his paperwork.

Thwocky: It's under my full name....

Eliza trips over a tree stump and comes back the the Sime Center with a bump.

Eliza: Erk.

D'cor: Ok then sir, if you will just follow me to the donation room?

Thwocky: Thwockmeister Channingam Guggenheim Lodrumhimanian Firth the Fourth.

Thwocky stands.

D'cor finally finds the right folder, and just dumps the rest of them back in the in tray.

D'cor heads down the hallway and walks into the closest empty donation room.

Eliza follows like a little lamb.

Jor-El follows, remembering the procedure he went through.

Thwocky follows D'cor.

D'cor: [Talking back over his shoulder in the approximate direction of Thwocky] Would you mind if a new trainee Donor watched the procedure today?

Thwocky: No.

Thwocky: [curiously] He's never seen a Fourth before?

Eliza looks at him.

Eliza: A fourth what?

D'cor: Ah, good. [D'cor decides to let Eliza handle the question, being unsure what Thwocky meant, while he seats himself behind the desk]

Alea falls asleep, sitting there waiting for Snake to answer.

D'cor: Now Jor-El, can you sit on the chair against the side wall for now. [starts to read Thwocky's file properly, while waiting for everyone to file in]

Jor-El goes and sits in the chair.

Thwocky takes his place on the transfer lounge.

D'cor: Uhm, Mr Firth [a noise from outside startles him], Eliza could you please go and see what that noise is?

D'cor: [Eliza leaves the room]

Thwocky waits patiently.

D'cor: Right, now Mr Firth [absently continues to page through the file], do you mind if people call you Thwockmeister? Or perhaps even Thwocky?

Thwocky: Um, okay.

D'cor: Ah good. We may have to start without my Donor here unfortunately. Jor-El, do you feel up to supporting a channel on your first day here?

D'cor isn't too happy with the idea, but even a total novice would be bearable compared to the level of support that Eliza gives, though she's not bad when she's having a good minute or two.

Jor-El: Ummm, okay.

D'cor is wondering what's being serious enough to delay his Donor.

Jor-El: ~nervous~

D'cor: Ok, now Jor-El [as he moves over to the transfer couch] I would like you to stand approximately there [points to the correct place], and remember the most important thing for you to do will be to relax.

Jor-El: Okay, then.

Jor-El moves into his place, and starts to relax.

D'cor is wondering who the shen put GN-4 in the guy's file.

Thwocky sits there wondering if ALL these people are new.

D'cor zlins Jor-El quickly. "That's good. You're a fast learner, now just remember in this case since you're a total novice, I would like you to do as I say. I may ask you to move around a bit but to remain relaxed, can you do that for me?

Jor-El: Yes, of course.

D'cor: Thwocky, are you in a hurry? If you aren't I would like to be able to explain the steps of what I do to Jor-El here.

Thwocky: Sure, sure. I'm used to being a guinea pig.

D'cor wonders what Thwocky meant by that.

Alea blinks away and realizes she fell asleep at the Ferry Building.

Alea: Shendoni.

Wise Snake is doing her paperwork, and a blanket has been draped over Alea.

Alea blinks again and rubs the sleep from her eyes.

Alea: Don't tell me I did it again?

Alea looks at Snake in dismay.

Wise Snake becomes seriously alarmed.

Wise Snake: Did what again!!

Alea: I fell asleep didn't I?

Alea: Right in the middle of a sentence, or thought, I'll bet.

Wise Snake: Oh! That. Yes.

Wise Snake had thought maybe Alea had repeated one of her other, less benign performances.

Alea pushes the blanket off her.

Wise Snake: Have you been getting enough sleep?

Alea wonders what Snake thought she did.

Alea: Well... yes, I think so.

Alea smiles.

Wise Snake: Well, a little extra never hurts.

Wise Snake thinks this is true for Gens, anyway.

Alea: I just tend to drift off at odd times.

Wise Snake zlins Alea.

Wise Snake: Well, the strain on your system makes your body work harder. I think it's probably okay.

Alea: ~~ rest restored ~~

D'cor: "First of all I take the clients arms in my tentacles and make sure that the grip is both firm and comfortable before going any further." D'cor then starts to do so.

Alea: Thank you, Snake.

Alea: Now, do you have any idea why I came here?

Wise Snake: You might want to make sure you take naps before you get tired enough to fall asleep in the middle of sentences though.

Jor-El continues to relax, trying not to worry about what is happening around him.

Rapol puts down the stack of empty envelopes.

Wise Snake: Er... no. Why?

Wise Snake: [thinking Alea is making her guess]

Rapol comes over to Snake.

Alea: I have no idea.

Alea chuckles and stretches.

Thwocky starts at the touch of the tentacles, then grins apologetically.

Thwocky: ~~suddenly nervous, and embarrassed~~

Thwocky: Gosh, I'm jumpy today. Sorry about that.

Alea rubs at her eyes again, and suddenly notes Rapol is in the room.

Alea's eyes widen.

Alea: When did HE get here?

D'cor pauses when Thwocky twitches, and sits there to wait to see if the client will settle down or not.

Wise Snake looks between Rapol and Alea oddly.

Wise Snake: He's been here the whole time!

Alea remembers all the questions she'd asked Snake about the furniture....

Alea: Yeah.

Alea doesn't believe her.

D'cor: You seem a little bit nervous Thwocky, relax, I'm not going to hurt you.

Wise Snake thinks ever since Rapol picked up stamp collecting he's the been as quiet as a mouse.

Thwocky: Of course not.

Alea is suddenly ~~ avidly curious ~~

Rapol shrugs.

Thwocky: I just get an adrenaline rush when I feel tentacles is all.

Thwocky: Terribly sorry about that.

Rapol: Require anything?

Alea forces herself to forget about what she was thinking and focus back on Snake.

Alea: Oh!

Alea grins.

Wise Snake jumps.

Alea: I remember now.

Alea scoots to the edge of her chair.

Wise Snake: Great... great.

Jor-El starts to feel ~bored~

Alea: The sketches I gave you.

Thwocky remains still.

Alea: I wondered if you were interested in any of them?

Wise Snake: Er... in what way?

Alea: Of course, it seems like we had this conversation a few months ago....

D'cor continues talking with one eye on Jor-El, looking to see how he's taking it all. "Next move is to reach forward for the lip to lip contact. The 5th contact position."

Alea: You had mentioned possibly doing up some of the rooms, and I wanted you to look at them.

Jor-El remembers this part, and how good it felt.

Alea: Do you like art, Rapol?

Thwocky thinks D'cor's eye pointing in one direction to the side is kinda gnarly, but tries not to let it faze him.

Rapol: Art? [nods]

Thwocky: ~~distracted/nervous~~

Alea doesn't see how he could after finding out just who all that furniture belongs to downstairs.

Alea: Oh?

D'cor leans forwards for the 5th contact, and holds it there not letting any selyn flow. Just waiting to see how Thwocky is going to react.

Alea: What type?

Wise Snake thinks this could get really ugly really quickly.

Wise Snake looks a bit pale.

Thwocky: ~~intense concentration of his attention on the tingling skin where the laterals are touching; apprehensive anticipation~~

Rapol: Furniture. Sculpture.

Alea: Furniture?

Alea looks closely at Snake.

Alea: And Sculptures.

Wise Snake seems a bit relieved now that the subject has turned from art.

Alea: You know, there is something I've never tired my hand at, sculpting.

Wise Snake looks panicky again.

Wise Snake: Um, there'll be plenty of time to try new things once your baby is born. [firmly]

D'cor pulls back slightly. "Thwocky, what's the best thing that has ever happened to you? Just think about it for a minute, don't talk about it, just think about it for a minute. Can you do that for me?"

Thwocky considers.

Alea: Oh, but there'll be much more time before... since I am slowing down so much.

Thwocky: Um.. sure? Okay.

Thwocky closes his eyes.

Thwocky slowly smiles.

D'cor is starting to look like he needs a professional Donor in the room.

Thwocky: ~~horny~~

D'cor leans forward and makes the 5th contact again.

Alea: And who knows... perhaps if I'm good, I can do you.

Jor-El tries really hard to relax, as he looks at the expression on D'cor.

Thwocky feels the touch on his lips.

Thwocky: ~~intense arousal~~

D'cor is starting to wish he was anywhere else. Even back at V'lar.

Wise Snake: Urk?

Wise Snake: No.

D'cor attempts to start the selyn flow.

Wise Snake: If you are staying here, you will not be able to do anything that takes as much space as sculpture. I'm sorry.

Alea smiles, thinking Snake is just being shy.

Rapol is ~~ dubious ~~ that Alea can do Snake's beauty justice.

Thwocky: ~~awful blend of horniness and worry as he feels the selyn flow almost immediately~~

Alea was thinking of Snake and Rapol intertwined in transfer as a sculpture, with perhaps, birds... snow birds... and black birds sitting on their shoulders.

Rapol is ~~ honored ~~ Snake lets him have space for his furniture when it is so scarce.

D'cor breaks contact as he sense a strange combination of feelings coming from Thwocky. As soon as he gets his lips free, he says "Please hold still Thwocky, I need you not to move for a minute or so."

Alea: Well then, when I move in here, I'll curtail my efforts and stick to sketches.

Alea wonders how these two would look in a sketch and slowly smiles.

Wise Snake dreads having to break the news to Rapol that most of his stuff will have to go into storage when the restoration begins, or it'll get ruined.

Jor-El: Can I do anything else, D'cor, to make it easier for you?

D'cor is looking in even worse shape now.

Thwocky: ~~genuine worry, which he is trying to control~~

D'cor isn't sure what to do next, but isn't quite ready to give up.

Jor-El feels ashamed at his lack of experience.

Rapol: Pictures?

Rapol: Landscapes?

Alea shakes her head

Alea: People.

Alea: I love to sketch people.

D'cor: Jor-El, you're fine. I'll need you after this donation though I'll

teach you how to relax a channel. [Then to Thwocky] Now there Thwocky I'm going to try something else this time.

Alea glances at Snake.

Alea: I should get back to the Center, I suppose.

Thwocky nods.

Wise Snake: Do you want an escort?

Alea: I don't have a Sime with me and well, I did promise Muryin....

Alea: Oh... yes, please.

Wise Snake: We were just going to start off to work anyway, weren't we Rapol?

D'cor leans forward and makes the 5th contact again. This time just wanting to get as much selyn out of Thwocky as possible.

Thwocky tenses up.

Alea: Oh no!

Alea: Snake, I am so sorry!

Thwocky tries not to resist, resulting in a sort of fluttery flow.

Alea ~~ immediate worry ~~~

D'cor try's to put up with the flutters for as long as possible but pulls away eventually feeling extremely ill.

Thwocky grins nervously.

Thwocky: Did you get much?

Rapol: Certainly.

Wise Snake pushes the papers she had(n't) been working on aside, and stands to fetch her cloak.

Alea: Did my sleeping throw off your schedule?

Rapol goes over to get the medical bag.

Alea pushes herself up to a standing position.

D'cor removes his tentacles and moves back over to the desk before answering. "I got more than last time Thwocky, just let me fill out the paperwork and I'll be able to tell you how much more."

Rapol checks. Retainers, Farris meds, bandages, non-Farris meds....

Thwocky: Great!

Thwocky: ~~accomplishment~~

Wise Snake: Just a hair.

D'cor: Jor-El, in that cabinet over there is fosebine, there may even be some made up in a glass bottle. Can you check for me and if there is can you pour me a double dose? The dosage is marked on the side of the measuring glass.

Alea: Oh dear.

Alea: I am so sorry.

Alea: Please just wake me next time.

D'cor has one huge headache.

Alea goes to the door.

Alea: Thank you again, Snake for....

Alea tries to remember what she came for, then shrugs.

Alea: For everything.

Wise Snake follows, glad Alea has forgotten all about the art.

Jor-El moves over to the cabinet and searches for the fosebine, when he finds it he pours the amount required, and returns to D'cor , handing the glass to him.

Alea goes down the stairs.

D'cor gratefully downs the glass of fosebine.

Rapol ~~ surrounds ~~ Snake as they go out.

Alea sees the new addition to the furniture and quickly averts her gaze from the monstrosity.

Wise Snake sees the red rubber footstool and stumbles.

Wise Snake: ~~shock~~

Alea thinks she'll never take Rapol art looking with her... then realizes, if he likes this and Snake lets it have such a prominent place in her building....

D'cor then works through the paperwork, finding much to his surprise that he managed to get twice as much selyn out of Thwocky as the last channel. He gave about 1/2 as much as most first time donors.

Alea realizes what Snake wants! ~~ excitement ~~

Wise Snake: WHERE did THAT come from???

Rapol: ~~ support ~~

Alea jumps, turning quickly and seeing her point.

Alea: Someone was delivering it when I came upstairs.

Alea smiles.

Rapol admires all the new items. especially the ones Snake bought for him.

Alea goes on toward the front door to wait while she and Rapol discuss their new acquisition.

Wise Snake clings to Rapol.

Wise Snake: Is that... yours?

Wise Snake eyes the rubber footstool.

Wise Snake: It sure is....red.

D'cor hands Thwocky the receipt. "Here you are, almost twice as much as last time. Do you know where to go to get your money?"

Rapol: Hmm? No. Never seen it before. Good though.

Wise Snake winces.

Wise Snake hurries the rest of the way out the door, blinking back afterimages.

Jor-El: Can I do anything else for you, D'cor?

Thwocky: Yep! Gee, thanks! You're the greatest.

Alea sees Snake and nods.

Alea: Do we want a cab or do we walk?

Thwocky: ~~big smile in his nager~~

Wise Snake looks at Alea sternly.

Wise Snake: A cab, of course.

Alea: What?

Alea wonders what she did to get that look.

Wise Snake hails one.

Alea: Of course... of course.

Alea wonders what is up with Snake that she has to have a cab, then shrugs.

D'cor turns towards Jor-El. "Jor-El, take a seat. Oh, first of all though, can you make me a cup of trin? After a donation like that I need a cup of trin."

Thwocky leaves.

Alea crawls up into the cab.

Jor-El: Umm yeah, I think I had one with Eliza earlier, I won't be a minute.

Jor-El leaves for a few minutes, and returns with a cup of trin.

Jor-El: Here we go.

Wise Snake waits until they are all in, then directs the cab to the lowertown Sime Center.

Alea settles herself into the seat.

Rapol sits next to Snake.

Rapol: Spring. Leaves are out.

D'cor: Ah, thank you. That man is a menace. I've never had anything like it. Never even heard of anything like it. [starts to look a bit better under the combination of Jor-El's nager and the trin].

Alea glances up at the sky again... then winces.

Alea: Uh oh... looks like it's beginning to sprinkle.

Rapol: Necessary. Selyn for the earth.

Wise Snake wonders what's so bad about that... aside from the fact that it'll likely freeze over tonight, covering everything in a thin sheen of ice.

Wise Snake smiles.

Alea: I hope your Donor doesn't get too cold out in this.

Alea: I love the rain, personally, but it's still too cold to go out in it.

Eliza puts a hand cautiously on D'cor's shoulder. 3

Alea sighs.

D'cor's color starts to come back.

Alea smiles when the Center comes into sight.

Jor-El looks on at Eliza and D'cor.

Rapol: Keep each other warm.

Alea: Thank you, again, Snake for seeing me like you did.

Eliza: You okay, D'cor?

Alea hears Rapol and glances at him, her eyes widening, then at Snake.

Alea has an 'oh my' look on her face.

Alea ~~ delight ~~

Eliza: I'm sorry, D'cor.

Eliza: It wasn't Alea screaming at all.

Eliza: It was just a cat getting run over.

Alea alights out of the cab.

Rapol is ~~ puzzled ~~ at Alea's reaction. He just mentioned sharing warm clothes.

Alea: Thank you again Snake, Rapol, for accompanying me to the Center.

Wise Snake looks at both of them, wondering what the shen THAT was.

Rapol: Certainly.

Wise Snake pays the driver once the cab has stopped.

Alea turns toward the building and starts up the walk.

Eliza looks at Jor-El

Wise Snake looks at Rapol.

Wise Snake: Should we make sure she gets in okay?

Eliza: What happened?

Jor-El: Do you need my assistance anymore?

Wise Snake is reluctant to, but that front walk DOES get awfully icy....

Alea gets to the stairs and goes up them slowly.

D'cor: That was one donation where I don't wish to repeat.

Rapol: Certainly.

Eliza looked at him wide eyed.

Eliza: You assisted him?

Wise Snake follows Alea.

Eliza looks at D'cor.

Eliza: And you didn't mind?

Alea gets to the door and pulls it open - and almost falls on her bottom as it gives more easily than normal.

D'cor: Eliza, where were you? [avoiding the question for now]

Wise Snake catches Alea.

Alea: Shendoni! Who oiled the thing!

Wise Snake winces.

Wise Snake: Well, ah... now you know.

Alea struggles out of Snake's grip.

Alea: Thank you.

Rapol follows Snake.

Jor-El: I didn't really assist him, I just stood still and tried to relax.

Alea: I'm sorry about that.

Wise Snake lets go hastily.

Alea: ~~ soothing ~~

Alea: It's okay.

Rapol: ~~ Shield ~~

Alea: I didn't mean to startle you.

Eliza: I thought I heard Alea screaming.

D'cor: And yes Eliza, I did mind. But I it was one way to start Jor-El's Donor training.

Alea nods to Snake, in apology for startling her.

Rapol eyes the infamous lobby....

D'cor is busy looking around on the desk trying to find a warning label of some sort to put on the file.

Alea goes on in and looks around, thinking it looks nice and peaceful this morning.

Wise Snake enters said lobby with Alea, looking about warily.

Eliza's eyes fill up with tears and she turns away and takes a few steps away.

Wise Snake takes a chance and zlins also.

Eliza sniffs.

Jor-El: Are you okay, Eliza?

Eliza: I'll go see if there is any one waiting shall I?

Wise Snake: Well, everything looks fine, Alea.

Eliza: Jor-El can stay with you.

D'cor: No. Eliza, stay here. I need you. Jor-El, can you go out to see if there is anyone else out there?

Eliza: I'm fine.

Wise Snake: You take care of yourself, okay?

Alea glances at Snake.

Alea: Of course.

Alea smiles.

Alea: Thank you again.

Jor-El leaves the room, and walks down to the lobby.

Alea turns and heads on into the Center.

Wise Snake shrugs to Rapol.

Jor-El looks around the lobby.

Rapol remains ~~ Alert and Calm ~~.

Wise Snake: Shall we?

Rapol: Certainly.

Jor-El notices Wise Snake and walks up to her.

Jor-El: The channel is waiting.

Wise Snake pauses.

Wise Snake looks at Jor-El, then zlins him curiously.

Wise Snake: I'm sorry...?

Jor-El: The channel is waiting, you here to make a donation I assume?

Wise Snake pauses.

Wise Snake: Er....?

Rapol ~~ indignant ~~.

Wise Snake glances at Rapol.

Alea hears and chuckles at Snake being mistaken for a donor.

Wise Snake: No, thank you. Which channel are you working with, by the way?

Alea looks at Rapol and laughs at the thought of him either, being asked to donate.

Jor-El: I'm working with D'cor.

Eliza thinks that D'cor looks dreadful.

Wise Snake looks genuinely surprised.

Wise Snake: You are? Really?

Eliza wants to do something to help - but is afraid to.

Jor-El: Yes.

Alea looks shocked

Wise Snake: I thought Eliza was assigned to him.

Jor-El ~~beams~~ with pride.

Wise Snake is somewhat disappointed.

Alea thinks, she met him this morning, and he was only THINKING of becoming a Donor.

Alea wonders how the shenned he graduated all the way to Donor and assigned in only a couple of short hours.

Eliza: I'm sorry I left you, D'cor.

Wise Snake in a fit of spontaneity decides to go along with it.

Eliza: Was it a problem?

D'cor is wondering if he should have another dose of fosebine.

Jor-El: Not at all, I learnt a great deal.

Wise Snake: Well... maybe I will donate. After all, I wouldn't want to disappoint your channel.

D'cor: It was one huge problem. Someone else had put GN4 in his file.

And that's about what he was.

Alea gapes in utter astonishment.

Alea: But... but you're a... uh... SNAKE!

Wise Snake remembers to adjust her field to as perfect a ~~GN-3~~ projection as she can manage.

Jor-El: Follow me then, please.

Wise Snake smiles snakily at Alea and follows Jor-El.

Alea looks at Rapol wondering if he is going to let his channel do this.

Wise Snake gestures at Rapol to wait.

Jor-El walks back to the Donation Room.

Rapol can't control a guffaw.

Eliza: GN4??

Wise Snake follows docilely.

Alea wanders over beside Rapol.

Eliza: Never heard of it!

Wise Snake: ~~replete, wonderfully calm GN-3~~

Alea: She can't be serious. [to Rapol]

D'cor: He gave very little selyn, with a great deal of difficulty. I don't wish to go through that again.

Rapol stays but looks ~~ uncomfortable ~~ at letting Snake out of his field.

D'cor is starting to look less ill under the influence of Eliza's partially trained field.

Eliza feels ~guilty~ for leaving him.

Tarsh comes out to get some tea.

Jor-El knocks on the door to the donation room.

D'cor hears the knock. "Come in".

Wise Snake waits beside Jor-El, wearing an innocent expression and a Gen nager.

Eliza jumps a bit at the knock.

Wise Snake refrains from commenting on the knock.

Tarsh: Alea!

Wise Snake: [barely]

Jor-El opens the door and enters the room, with the woman entering behind him.

Alea: Good morning, Tarsh.

Alea nods to Rapol.

Alea: Have you met Rapol yet, Tarsh?

Eliza: Snake!

Alea: Rapol, this is Tarsh, our chief financial officer.

Wise Snake smiles innocently.

D'cor perfunctorily zlins the woman, reading only a perfect GN3 field.

Wise Snake winks at Eliza but says nothing.

Wise Snake: ~~calm interested donor~~

Eliza looks bamboozled.

Jor-El: The person you wanted me to bring is here, D'cor.

Alea goes over and hugs Tarsh.

Tarsh: I'm not sure.

Wise Snake: ~~beautiful soothing perfect GN-3 field... nice easy donation~~

Tarsh hugs Alea.

Rapol nods to Tarsh.

Eliza feels like the world has just turned inside out.

Wise Snake meanwhile studies how D'cor seems to be treating Eliza.

Alea: I just got back from Snake's.

Alea: Rapol is her Donor, you know.

Victor S., a rather nerdlike Gen, obviously from elsewhere, enters the lobby.

Alea: What brings you out to the lobby?

D'cor: Thank you Jor-El. [Then to Snake] Hello my name is Hajene D'cor, this [pointing in Eliza's direction] is my Donor Sosu Eliza and you have already met Jor-El a Donor in training. And you are?

Victor S.: I was told that there was someone here who might help me with a project I am working on....

Eliza looks at D'cor as if he is mad.

Alea wanders off down the hall.

Eliza looks at Snake and thinks maybe it's not D'cor that's mad.

Wise Snake: Um....

Victor S.: It involves energy, and motion....

Tarsh: She has two now?

D'cor still has his head down over the desk.

Wise Snake: A donor, evidently.

D'cor: Please take a seat on the couch, I will be with you in a minute.

Eliza shakes her head and sits down quickly.

Wise Snake is still a little doubtful on this score, but Jor-El IS Tecton and he did say so, so....

Alea: Yes, she does.

Alea continues down the hall to go get some tea.

D'cor: Did you grab her file while you were out there, Jor-El?

Tarsh walks along with Alea.

Tarsh: Well, given how much she complains, I supposes she has to switch off....

Alea looks at Tarsh in surprise.

Jor-El: Oops, I forgot.

Alea: You think they don't like her?

Rapol nods to Victor S.

Victor S. walks over to Rapol.

D'cor: Oh well, most of the forms I need are here, but always remember the Tecton loves paperwork.

Jor-El asks the donor, "and what was your name Miz?"

Tarsh: Snake? Can anyone like her? Respect her, yes, but....

Alea gapes.

Eliza: File?

Wise Snake: Um....

Wise Snake: Snake.

Alea: Rapol wants to marry her. I would say that has to do with a little more than respect.

Victor S.: I am working on a project, involving, er, transportation.

Eliza looks at Snake for help.

Alea: And Nick is so prickly when I get near her that it's almost embarrassing.

Wise Snake smiles pleasantly.

D'cor: [There is a flicker of recognition in D'cor's eyes at the sound of the name]

D'cor looks up to take a good look at the donor that Jor-El has bought into the room.

Tarsh: He does? ~~ incredulous ~~

Alea goes into the cafeteria and pours them both a mug of Gulf Trin and hands one to Tarsh.

Tarsh: Some impressive lovers' quarrels there.

Tarsh: Thanks darling.

Rapol: Transportation?

D'cor: That must be a common name in this area then? [The light of understanding is beginning to show in his eyes].

Alea blushes.

Alea: You know, at one time, before I really knew you, I thought that you and Snake... well....

Alea trails off wondering how she could have thought that now.

Victor S.: Yes, rapid transportation... actually AIR transportation.

Eliza: D'cor

Wise Snake: Not that I know of.

Eliza concentrates on him strongly

D'cor: [Turning towards Eliza] Yes, Eliza, what is it? And please back off just a fraction with the support.

Wise Snake: ~~slight humor~~

Eliza quickly moves to New Washington now she has his attention.

Eliza: This is Snake.

Tarsh: Me? And Snake?! [shivers]

Alea takes a sip of her tea.

D'cor: The Snake? [Shocked]

Tarsh: I prefer women with some meat on their bones.

Alea: Talking about bad personalities....

Tarsh: Not into weasels.

Eliza: I thought you knew her.

Jor-El: Who?

Eliza looks at Snake in total befuzzlement.

Wise Snake drops the pretense.

D'cor turns back towards Snake.

Alea wonders when Tarsh started disliking her cousin so much.

Eliza is now known as Mytag.

Alea: Have you met the new Channel, Ison?

Rapol looks shocked. "Air transportation? Like Ancients?"

Mytag heads back to the cafeteria to pick up a quick bite.

Alea: Now there is someone who has a personality like a weasel.

D'cor: [Zlinning to make sure], I thought I'd run into you sooner or later... But like this? [Stuck halfway between shock and amazement]

Eliza scratches her head, totally destroying any semblance of order her hair might have had.

Alea: Ison, that is.

Alea shakes her head.

Wise Snake: Sorry, I couldn't resist. This young man seemed so earnest to get me to donate.

Victor S.: Not exactly. I had in mind a more flexible power plant, but with much the same effect!

Jor-El: ~embarrassment~

Mytag turns to Alea and Tarsh.

Mytag: Who has the personality of a weasel?

Tarsh: No, I don't think so. Saw his paperwork, of course.

Mytag: Hello again, Alea. [smiles]

Alea looks around.

Alea smiles ~~ embarrassment ~~

Victor S.: I have a design, but have been unable to prove its utility. That's why I'm here.

Wise Snake grins, proving she DOES have a sense of humor though it is rarely exercised.

Rapol: Power Plant? Huge building.

D'cor: Jor-El, I would like you to meet the infamous Snake, a rogue Farris channel. But perhaps one of the best there is.

Rapol scoffs.

Alea: Uh, well....

Alea shrugs, then decides, what the heck.

Wise Snake senses Eliza's puzzlement and thinks she should explain about the Gen projection later.

Alea: Your friend, Ison.

Jor-El says ~nervously~ ahh pleased to meet you, sorry about all that.

Wise Snake beams at the compliment.

Wise Snake: Have you been talking to B'cal?

Victor S.: Well, a Gen is capable of producing a small amount of physical energy, say 1/4 of a horsepower.

Wise Snake: [hoping B'cal says nice things about her behind her back]

Mytag: Weasel? I wouldn't say weasel.

Tarsh: Greetings Mytag.

Mytag: Shark maybe.

Alea: Then what would you say?

Mytag smiles at them.

Alea: Uh....

Victor S.: But a Sime, I am told, can produce much more... given the resources, if you follow my meaning....

Alea wouldn't use exactly that word.

Rapol: A Sime? Pedalling?

Tarsh: Shark is good.

Victor S.: Perhaps we should step outside?

D'cor: I barely know B'cal. I attended a couple of training sessions with her before she was called away to deal with you and that's about it. I never saw her after she came back. She is after all a First and a very good one at that. I on the other hand am simply a fairly good 2nd, except when it comes to picking up on fake Gens. [suddenly grins as the humor in the situation gets to him.]

Alea thinks only when it isn't after you.

Tarsh: Well, she does help people....

Victor S.: Not only pedalling, but using the upper body as well. The idea is a two or three person short range craft.

Rapol glances down to see Snake isn't coming back yet. "Certainly".

Victor S. walks out with Rapol.

Wise Snake smiles.

Wise Snake: Well, I left my Donor in the lobby. But I did want to ask you... how are you getting along with Eliza?

Alea nods.

Rapol stops on the porch. "Sime would be on a short cycle if did it everyday."

Eliza jumps.

Eliza looks at D'cor, scared he will say something bad to Snake about her.

Victor S.: Indeed, and therein lies my problem. I have a design, but making it fly will require a lot of effort... and selyn.

Jor-El: Hmmm, I think that's enough mistakes for one day.

Tarsh: Snake will help people if they need it, but she makes sure you know it isn't her inclination to do it.

D'cor: Me? Fine, I think. She can be a bit overpowering at times but when I'm not being overpowered by her field she's fairly good to work with.

Rapol: Selyn?

Alea: She will help people, Tarsh, even when she doesn't have to.

Eliza looks devastated.

Rapol: Simes would get problems after a few months.

Alea: She is willing to let us move in, if we decide to.

Alea glances at Mytag.

Wise Snake: Oh, that's good. I was wondering... after all, she's only had a couple of months training and can't be expected to do everything someone with full training can do.

Alea: We were getting some tea.

Rapol: Hostility, Paranoia, weight loss....

Rapol: Have to be an occasional thing.

Victor S. looks around for eavesdroppers, then says to Rapol -

Victor S.: And I don't want the Tecton in on it just yet, either.

Wise Snake: And... [confidingly] she does need a lot of encouragement, I mean, it takes a lot of courage to go through with Donor training after all she went through.

Alea: Would you like some, Mytag?

Tarsh: I'll deal with the fixation later if it helps you get through this.

Rapol wanders back into the lobby lost in thought.

Alea: I love you too much to ever ask that of you.

Alea: Just be with me when you can, darling, and I'll be happy.

Alea looks around.

Alea: Where did Mytag go?

Tarsh: Uh, he had an appointment.

D'cor: Hmm I didn't know that, I'll keep it in mind.

Alea: Oh.

Alea: Well, he's not quite as bad as Ison. Too bad he couldn't stay and talk.

Alea sighs.

Jor-El: D'cor, do you need a hand with anything else?

Alea sits down in a chair and props her chin on her hand.

Tarsh: They came in together, didn't they?

Eliza: Oh, Jor-El.

Eliza: I'm sorry.

Alea: Yes, yes they did.

Alea: They're good friends.

D'cor: No Jor-El, it's right. Oh, and there's no need to feel embarrassed about what's happened. It's a beginner's mistake. Just as long as you're not making the same mistakes in 6 months time then you've learnt something from it.

Alea's eyes close.

Alea: So, tell me tarsh, what do you have lined up for the rest of the day?

Wise Snake: So, they have you training two Donors at once? [innocently]

Tarsh pulls over a chair and sits watching Alea doze.

Eliza looks daggers at Snake.

Eliza: NO.

Tarsh: Nothing important. catch up with paperwork.

Wise Snake winces and moves to place D'cor and Jor-El somewhat more between herself and Eliza.

Alea nods.

Alea: Uummmhmmm....

Alea ~~ drifting half asleep ~~

Eliza looks devastated.

Alea: I haf ta work witt Jirelle later....

D'cor: I was sort of stuck with it after breakfast. It's not my idea of an easy day, but things could have being worse.

Tarsh watches Alea lest she fall over.

Eliza: ~~unloved, unwanted~~

Rapol comes down the hall, looking in open doorways for Snake.

Wise Snake is surprised by D'cor's attitude.

Wise Snake: You don't enjoy teaching?

Alea ~~ sleep ~~ slipping down toward the table

D'cor: [momentarily careless] No, not really.

Alea is now known as sleep.

D'cor: ~~guilt~~

Tarsh reaches out to brace Alea.

Eliza thinks that's okay cause she doesn't want to learn from D'cor anyway.

Rapol can't see her in any of the rooms.

Wise Snake looks a bit appalled.

Wise Snake: Ummh.

D'cor: Was there anything in particular you wanted Hajene? If there wasn't, I really should go back to work.

Wise Snake: I think I have what I came for.

Eliza wants to kick D'cor.

Wise Snake: Eliza... Jor El. [nods]

Wise Snake leaves the room.

Eliza has felt this way several times lately.

Eliza doesn't want Snake to go.

Eliza: Err, scuse me a moment D'cor.

Eliza runs after Snake.

Eliza: Snake!

Wise Snake walks towards the lobby.

Wise Snake stops.

Wise Snake: Eliza?

Eliza: Err,

Eliza: I was, I mean, I'm sorry about that.

D'cor: Jor-El, could you leave me alone for a couple of minutes? I think I need some time to myself.

Rapol smells food and is drawn to the cafeteria.

Jor-El: Not a problem.

Jor-El: Hope you're feeling better soon.

Wise Snake: Well... you know what happened, that's a good improvement.

D'cor: I should be.

Eliza: But, why did he think you were a donor?

Jor-El leaves the room and shuts the door behind, join Snake and Eliza.

Wise Snake: Knowing how your field affects others is important to learning... oh, that.

Wise Snake: I was zlinning like a Gen.

Wise Snake: He was using his laterals instead of his eyes.

Eliza looks confused.

Eliza: You mean he was hyper?

Rapol goes over to look over the Tecton's idea of muffins.

Katryn walks into the lobby.

Eliza: Should I have been holding him duo or something?

Katryn wonders where her Donor got off to.

Wise Snake: No, he just wasn't paying attention to what his eyes were telling him.

Katryn knows there is still two and a half minutes left before they were suppose to meet.

Wise Snake: No, you were doing fine, except for those bursts of emotion.

Katryn wants him to be with her though while she waits for any possible disasters in the lobby.

Mytag is waiting for Katryn in her office.

D'cor sits down with his head in hands for a couple of minutes before becoming lost in the paperwork again.

Eliza blushes.

Eliza: I'm sorry, but he is so hard to work with.

Eliza: I keep getting the strangest desire!

Wise Snake: Yes. Well, the fact that he doesn't want to teach is... oh, you mean the one where you intend to do him personal injury?

Wise Snake: I zlinned that one.

Wise Snake: Quite unpleasant sensation, actually.

Eliza leans forward and whispers "I get the urge to just kick him sometimes! Isn't that dreadful?"

Wise Snake nods.

Eliza: You should feel it from this side!

Wise Snake: I intend to speak to Briel.

Eliza: Oh no!

Wise Snake thinks Eliza is unaware of just how much of the inside Snake has to zlin.

Eliza: Don't do that!

Eliza: She will make me leave!

Wise Snake looks surprised.

Katryn heads to her office.

Wise Snake: I don't think so... not for something that isn't your fault.

Eliza isn't sure about that.

Wise Snake: The guy doesn't want to teach. You need a teacher. You do want to learn, don't you?

Wise Snake: I mean, it would be a little hard for you to bring it up yourself, right?

Eliza: She wasn't going to assign me to anyone this month, Snake.

Katryn: Ah well... perhaps later something exciting will come in.

Katryn really wants a chance to zlin fear again.

Wise Snake: I'm not surprised.

Eliza: Yes I want to learn, but but but.

Katryn goes to her office and opens the door.

Mytag: Hey, Katryn.

Mytag looks up from the grisly book.

Katryn: Hi, Mytag.

Katryn: Right on time.

Mytag: [the one about the 101 kills, not the one about bears]

Katryn: Reading my book about kills?

Mytag smiles at her.

Mytag: [looking at it]

Wise Snake: You really do require more training.

Mytag: Pretty bad really, hey.

Katryn: Yeah.

Wise Snake: If your control fails during a delicate healing operation, a person could be seriously harmed.

Katryn: But interesting in a way too.

Katryn: Think how much can be learned from something like this.

Eliza: I've been thinking about that.

Katryn goes into her office and shuts the door.

Rapol decides that Tecton muffins are decent, but the tea is wretched.

D'cor gets up and heads towards the back door of the Center.

Eliza: I really don't want to leave Bender Cove. But recently I've been hearing about Donor training.

Wise Snake looks interested.

Eliza: I don't really think that what I'm doing here is going to count much in the long run.

Rapol shares his ~~ opinion ~~ with the rest of the cafeteria.

Katryn moves over next to Mytag, resting on his field.

Wise Snake: When you go to the camps, and learn that way, it's very intense. You would be totally immersed in the learning experience.

Eliza: Do you think that if I did that I would be able to come back here after?

Eliza: Or would I be sent somewhere else?

D'cor heads out to the back garden and sits there staring at nothing while he thinks.

D'cor: [thinks about what to do next]

Mytag: I'm not sure that is the sort of thing you should be learning, you know.

Rapol decides to try the fruit, which looks good.

Wise Snake: You'd be sent wherever the Tecton wanted to send you, although if you requested Bender Cove you'd have a better chance of being assigned here.

Katryn: Why is that?

Katryn: Ways to help Simes avoid killing Gens.

Wise Snake thinks there probably aren't that many people who actually request this Center now that its reputation has gotten around.

Mytag doesn't think that is where the attraction lies.

Mytag puts down the book with a thump.

Katryn: Well, I suppose we should get to work.

Mytag: Anyway, what are we scheduled for today?

D'cor wonders why he was ordered to Bender Cove.

Eliza looks nervous about being sent away.

Eliza: I'm not sure about it all. Please don't tell Briel I was asking about going away for training.

Katryn: Transfers.

Katryn smiles.

Wise Snake: Okay.

Katryn: You ready to go?

Eliza: I suppose I should go back to D'cor.

Eliza doesn't look thrilled.

Mytag: Always.

Mytag smiles at her.

Jor-El: Eliza, what should I do now?

Katryn leaves the office.

Eliza sees Jor-El waiting for her in the lobby.

Eliza: Oh!

Eliza: I don't know.

Wise Snake sees Eliza's attention has been distracted, and slips away to Briel's office. [after seeing Rapol is not in the lobby and wondering where in shen he went]

Briel strides into the lobby.

Wise Snake nearly runs into Briel.

Eliza: I guess, hmmm.

Briel: Whoa, Snake.

Briel backpedals quickly.

Eliza: Let's go back to D'cor.

Briel: Good afternoon.

Briel zlins and doesn't note a Donor.

Rapol settles back after having what he has to admit is good fruit salad.

Briel: How may I help you?

Wise Snake: May I have a word with you?

Jor-El: Okay, but he told me he wanted sometime to himself.

Rapol decides to see if Snake is back yet.

Briel: Of course.

Wise Snake takes Briel aside.

Wise Snake: About D'cor... Eliza's assignment.

Briel goes into her office and motions for Snake to be seated.

Briel: Yes?

Eliza: Oh.

Wise Snake sees Briel take off for her office and follows.

Eliza: Well, lets go back and see if he wants us yet.

Wise Snake sits.

Jor-El: Okay.

Wise Snake: Yes, he's not interested in teaching.

Briel: Really?

Rapol comes out to the lobby and sees Snake isn't back yet.

Briel frowns.

Wise Snake: Don't you think Eliza should be placed with someone who is genuinely eager to help her?

Rapol: ~~ annoyed ~~

Briel: It was my understanding that he was.

Eliza signals at the door.

Eliza: Oh, Jor-El, I forgot to tell you - never knock around Simes.

Wise Snake: Didn't zlin like it to me.

Eliza: Makes them nervous.

Jor-El: Oh, okay.

Wise Snake: Even said so, actually.

Wise Snake: And... he is a little hard on her. As her field is hard on him.

Briel: I hadn't zlinned that between them.

Briel: I'll have to bring both of them in and talk with them, find out what's going on.

Eliza wonders why D'cor isn't answering.

Eliza signals again.

Briel: Thank you so much, Snake, for bringing this to my attention.

Wise Snake: Eliza is afraid to confess her concerns about the match because she's afraid if she says anything she will either be taken off the transfer rolls or sent away entirely.

Eliza frowns.

Wise Snake: Er... okay.

Wise Snake: Well I'll get going then.

Briel sighs.

Wise Snake can tell Briel is busy.

Briel: That Donor.

Briel: I don't know what she thinks we're trying to do.

Briel: We only want what is best for her.

Wise Snake: Briel... she's stuck with a teacher who doesn't want to teach and makes no secret of it.

Wise Snake: Who is going to learn in that environment?

Rapol asks clerk where the Devastating young channel went.

Briel: Yes, you mentioned that.

Briel: And like I said, we only want what's best for her.

Briel: I wish she had come and talked to me about this.

Wise Snake can see that Briel is ready to blame Eliza for what is going on.

D'cor looks longingly towards the street, then shakes his head and stands up to go back to the Center.

Wise Snake: She was afraid she'd be blamed for what is only partly her fault.

Briel looks up at Snake, surprised.

Briel: Why do you think it's her fault?

Briel: The channel should be teaching her.

Wise Snake pinches the bridge of her nose.

Briel: If he's not doing his job, he'll be reprimanded for it.

Wise Snake: Look... we are having a serious communications problem here.

Wise Snake: Great... handle it... I have to go find my Donor.

Wise Snake gets up and leaves Briel's office.

Rapol is deep in miscommunication with clerk.

D'cor walks back into the center and starts trying to find Eliza.

Wise Snake goes back to the lobby.

Eliza thinks that as D'cor obviously isn't going to answer his door she will take the prospective Donor to Briel

Briel shakes her head not sure exactly what Snake was wanting.

Rapol looks up.

Rapol: ~~ ! ~~

Eliza: Come on, Jor-El.

Eliza: I'll see if the Controller is in.

Rapol comes over and ~~ surrounds ~~ Snake proprietarily.

Jor-El follows Eliza.

Wise Snake: Ahh... there you are.

Rapol: Yes.

Rapol: [slight sarcasm] "Donation go okay?"

Wise Snake gets close to Rapol, enjoying the soothing field.

Wise Snake: Better than some.

Wise Snake laughs shortly.

Wise Snake: Let's go, eh?

Rapol: Certainly.

Wise Snake leaves the Sime Center.

Rapol follows, hitching the medical bag.
