Sime/Gen Roleplaying: Bender Cove Township Scenario
Episode #203: Slippery When Late (3/31/98)
Alea walks up to the Ferry Building and signals.
Alea slips off her gloves and slips them in her pockets.
Wise Snake is hurrying down the street.
Terance is walking carefully across the lake, too lazy to go around - it is frozen, after all.
Terance is a rather dim Gen male.
Terance: Wwwhooop, almost fell then!
Toi Toi opens the door.
Toi Toi: Hello?
Toi Toi: Can I help you?
Terance: Almost there....
Terance relaxes as he starts to step up onto the solid (and slippery) ground.
Alea sees Toi Toi and sighs.
Alea: Yes, I would like to talk to my cousin.
Terance: Whooopppsss!!!! [slip slip slip BUMP] OH SHIT!
Toi Toi looks a bit nervous.
Toi Toi: Oh... er....
Terance: ~~pain~~
Terance: My leg! My leg!
Wise Snake zlins Gen pain and groans.
Wise Snake: Shen... just when I'm in a hurry, too.
Alea looks at Toi Toi oddly.
Alea: You know, Snake Farris?
Wise Snake hurries through the park and locates the Gen near the edge of the pond.
Terance looks at his leg and groans loudly.
Terance: Ooohhhh it HURTS!!!!
Terance: ~~OUCH!!!~~
Toi Toi: Umm... yes! Please come in and sit down.
Toi Toi looks like she's thinking, "oh shen!"
Alea: Thank you.
Toi Toi lets Alea in.
Alea is wondering why Toi Toi is acting so weird.
Wise Snake zlins Terance.
Alea ~~ wary ~~
Wise Snake: Uh.. it's broken.
Terance: Yes, it HURTS!!!
Wise Snake thinks every second of delay makes it more likely Nick and/or Rapol will figure out she's AWOL and then she'll really be in for it when she gets back.
Terance: are you a channel? Can you fix it! PLEASE!!
Terance: It HURTS!!!!!
Alea removes her cloak and tosses it over her arm.
Wise Snake: I can take you to the Sime Center. [begs]
Wise Snake tries not to zlin any more.
Terance: No no no no no.
Terance: Fix it fix it!!!!!
Terance: It HURTS!!!!!!
Toi Toi: You just sit here and I'll... I'll... just go up and....
Toi Toi: [flees up the stairs]
Toi Toi knows Snake is gone and is trying to figure out how to keep Alea from going up the stairs and Rapol finding out Snake is missing.
Toi Toi is pretty sure SHE, Toi Toi, would be the one to get in trouble if that happened. Probably from three different directions.
Alea goes to sit down, mentally going over the last few days and trying to think of anything she might have done to cause Toi Toi to react thusly.
Wise Snake: Okay okay. Shh... just calm down.
Wise Snake removes the medical satchel and opens it.
Terance sobs with pain
Terance: It HURTS!!!
Terance: Look at my LEG!!!!
Wise Snake finds a stiff painkiller, administers a dose to herself, and closes the kit.
Wise Snake: Okay. Just lie still... as a matter of fact, lie back. Lie down, can you?
Wise Snake: Try not to move the leg.
Terance lies down quickly.
Terance SCREAMS.
Wise Snake carefully picks up Terance.
Wise Snake: Don't struggle or move any more than you have to.
Wise Snake: We'll be at the Sime Center shortly.
Alea wonders what is taking Toi Toi so long.
Wise Snake uses her field to try to blunt Terance's pain for him, and to completely block it for the people they are passing on the street.
Toi Toi comes back down the stairs.
Terance shrieks when he finds someone 1/4 of his size picking him up.
Toi Toi: Er... It'll be just a few minutes.
Alea decides to find Snake and goes to the stairs.
Terance: NOOOOOOO!
Terance: You'll DROP ME!!!!
Toi Toi: Ah... please sit down.
Terance: MY LEG!!!!!
Alea stops when she sees Toi Toi.
Wise Snake: Am I going to have to tranquilize you?
Alea thinks Toi Toi is just stalling.
Wise Snake considers taking a tranquilizer herself.
Terance: Yes PLEASE!!!!!!
Alea, however, doesn't want to get into another wrestling match with her.
Wise Snake: Oh, shen.
Terance: ~~ PAIN ~~
Alea: Very well.
Wise Snake puts Terance to sleep.
Wise Snake: [with her nager]
Alea checks her watch then returns to sit down.
Terance passes out.
Wise Snake holds him under despite the pain and grimly walks the rest of the way to the Sime Center, which is fortunately nearby.
Katryn is checking the board, wondering where her newly assigned Gen is.
Mytag is in the cafeteria, stuffing a pie into his mouth.
Wise Snake enters the Sime Center, carefully maneuvering her load through the door.
Wise Snake is panting and sweaty, a condition she loathes.
Katryn zlins the wonderfully powerful channel and turns.
Katryn: Oh!
Katryn: Hajene Farris.
Katryn hurries forward.
Katryn: What have we here?
Wise Snake: Hello, er Katryn.
Wise Snake: Could you take this injured Gen for me? I was just on my way somewhere else and happened to zlin him fall. Broken leg.
Katryn zlins
Katryn: Treatment room one is open.
Katryn: Uh... of course.
Terance flops around unconscious.
Katryn ~~ pride that a Farris thinks she can do the job for her ~~
Katryn reaches out for Terance.
Wise Snake carefully hands him over.
Wise Snake: Watch out, I've been holding him asleep. His pain is pretty bad.
Katryn: Thank you, Hajene Farris.
Katryn: Oh, thank you.
Katryn: I will.
Mytag washes it down with cola, goes to the bathroom and washes his face and hands, looks around for Ison, then remembers.
Mytag: Shen.
Wise Snake considers offering to fill out a few forms about Terence, but she really IS in a hurry.
Wise Snake: See you later, then.
Wise Snake leaves the Sime Center.
Katryn turns and starts to the infirmary, augmenting slightly.
Terance moans.
Alea settles in to wait.
Katryn: Ah... hello, sir.
Wise Snake hurries down the Sime Center's front steps.
Katryn goes in and hefts the person onto the bed.
Mytag hurries to the lobby to find his assigned Channel.
Terance: ~~ouch~~ Oooohhh!!!!
Katryn gasps.
Katryn: Oh goodness, you are hurting.
Veegiee is carrying a large load of firewood and hurrying down the road.
Veegiee can't see where in the heck he's going over the load of wood, so is zlinning his way.
Mytag finds out that Katryn is in the infirmary with an emergency case and hurries down to help her.
Terance: Oooohhh.
Terance opens his eyes to see that he is now indoors.
Terance: Where am I?
Katryn: You're at the Sime Center.
Mytag rushes in.
Mytag: I'm sorry, Katryn.
Katryn flips into healing mode so her secondary system will take the brunt of his pain.
Mytag surrounds her with his nager.
Katryn ~~ relieved ~~~ leans on his nager.
Katryn: So, looks like you're pretty messed up here.
Katryn: Lucky for you, Hajene Farris brought you to us.
Terance: Ohhhh my leg hurts!!!!
Katryn uses a tentacle to rip his pants leg up the seam.
Terance: Ooooohhhhh MY LEG!!!
Terance: ~~ pain ~~
Katryn hurried backs into Mytag.
Mytag looks at the broken leg with interest.
Mytag: Slip on the ice?
Katryn: Please get me some Fosebine for this Gen.
Terance: YES!!!!
Veegiee fails to zlin a large patch of glare ice ahead of him.
Katryn thinks, LOTS of Fosebine.
Mytag opens the cupboard where the fosebine should be, locates it and brings it over.
Veegiee: Whoops.... oh sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnn!!!!! [WHUMP]
Veegiee's load of wood goes flying.
Veegiee belly-flops the ground and keeps skidding.
Veegiee: [sharp hideous pain in his right arm]
Veegiee: MY ARM!!! MY ARM!!!!! ~~~pain~~~
Katryn pours up a triple dose and gives it to Terance.
Katryn: Now, just drink this.
Veegiee skids several more feet and fetches up against the feet of a Sime.
Terance gulps it down.
Terance pulls a face.
Wise Snake slips and slides to a stop, in time to avoid colliding with a sliding-out-of-control renSime in severe pain.
Terance: dats derible
Wise Snake: What! Not again!!
Katryn: Mytag, would you get some water to wash this down with?
Mytag hands her the cup he had ready.
Veegiee: I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die!! my arm!! My arm!!!!!
Veegiee curls up in a ball.
Wise Snake: Oh, shen.
Wise Snake gets down on her knees.
Katryn hands Terance the water.
Wise Snake: You're going to be all right... let me see it. Let me... ooh, that looks bad.
Wise Snake winces.
Veegiee: Ohhhhno!!! Oh god!!
Veegiee: My arm, my arm!!!
Wise Snake: Okay, okay, you'll be just fine.
Wise Snake: It's just a break, you'll be healed in no time.
Wise Snake: Er....
Wise Snake: Shen!
Wise Snake thinks of the time and realizes her ass is going to be grass when she gets back to the Ferry Building.
Wise Snake: Come on, let me help you get to the Sime Center. Okay?
Veegiee moans, convinced he is living his last moments.
Terrance quiets as the fosebine takes effect.
Wise Snake: Shen... okay, here, I'll help you block the pain.
Wise Snake works over the renSime, wishing the guy was more cooperative.
Veegiee: Why bother... I'm done for!!
Katryn works on Terance, setting the leg and then projecting to heal it.
Veegiee slumps apathetically. [and agonizingly]
Mytag stays close to Katryn, imagining the pain that must be coming from the break.
Wise Snake: There, isn't that better? Now, can you get up? I'll help hold the arm straight.
Veegiee stands up with an effort, crying out dramatically with each bump of his hurt arm.
Wise Snake is hard put to avoid rolling her eyes.
Katryn is grateful for Mytag's support.
Katryn is also sweating and just bit pale.
Wise Snake walks Veegiee slowly back to the Sime Center, attempting to avoid thinking about the minutes ticking by.
Mytag increases his support, attempting to block everything from between Katryn and the Gen.
Katryn: I think this is going to take care of you.
Katryn relaxes somewhat.
Veegiee is finding it difficult to swoon in pain with most of the pain blocked, so concentrates in dwelling on how ghastly his upper arm looks when it's slightly crooked.
Katryn goes to the cabinet and gets the plaster, wetting it and bringing it back to wrap Terance's leg.
Wise Snake: Now, the'll take good care of you at the Sime Center, help you heal and keep you there until they're sure there's no damage at all to the... er... [doesn't say "damage to the selyn pathways" because she doesn't want to set him off again] ...arm. [lamely]
Katryn slips on the cloth and then motions Mytag to hold his heel while she wraps the plaster around Terance's leg.
Mytag pulls slightly on the heel to keep the leg straight.
Wise Snake leads Veegiee up the steps into the Sime Center, holding the door open carefully to protect the injured arm.
Katryn finishes wrapping it and nods to Mytag that he can lay the foot down.
Katryn: Now, let me put you to sleep.
Katryn puts Terance to sleep.
Veegiee: Oh, geez... this is the pits. Why'd I have to go and break my arm?
Veegiee is beginning to realize life is going to go on, with all the attendant inconveniences plus more.
Katryn looks over at Mytag.
Katryn: Let's go see what's on the boards for today.
Katryn goes over and washes her hands and tentacles, then dries them.
Wise Snake: Now, everything's going to be all right. Let me just find you a channel.
Veegiee: Now I have to go and buy more wood. People will have stolen my other load by the time I get back.
Veegiee: ~~bummed~~
Katryn walks with Mytag back toward the lobby.
Wise Snake: Uh... yeah, well, be glad you weren't hurt worse.
Wise Snake: AH!! Katryn.
Wise Snake: ~~relieved impatience~~
Wise Snake: Please, would you take this injured renSime? Broken arm. Slipped on ice.
Katryn: Oh! hajene Farris.
Katryn smiles.
Katryn: Of course. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
Wise Snake: I'm helping him block his pain. It's pretty bad.
Katryn nods to Mytag and walks over to where Veegiee is sitting.
Katryn: Of course, Hajene.
Katryn ~~ professional ~~
Wise Snake sighs and hurries back out of the Sime Center.
Wise Snake starts down the street, eyes on the clock tower in the distance.
Wise Snake tries to decide what she will tell Rapol.
Katryn moves Mytag beside her.
Veegiee has a broken upper right arm.
Katryn: So, Veegiee, how are you?
Veegiee: ~~pain misery~~
Veegiee: I broke my arm.
Veegiee: I'm having a lousy day!!
Veegiee: ~~bitterly~~
Katryn: I zlin that.
Florance steps off the sidewalk onto the street, her legs fly out from under her into the air and she lands splat on her back.
Katryn: Why don't you come with me, and we'll get you fixed up.
Florance: My back! My back! ~~ agony ~~
Katryn starts down the hall toward treatment room two.
Wise Snake zlins agony from up ahead.
Muttley noses open the back door of the Sime Center.
Veegiee gets up, ~~pain pain pain~~~ and follows Katryn.
Wise Snake tries to pretend she didn't zlin that.
Florance: Help me!
Wise Snake: Oh, shen.
Katryn winces.
Florance: Help me!
Florance: My back! I've hurt my back!
Wise Snake tries to pretend she didn't hear that.
Katryn pushes open the door to treatment room two.
Florance: ~~PAIN~~
Muttley thinks about raising his leg on the Gnome, but decides not to.
Wise Snake clutches her head, trying to pretend she didn't know this was happening.
Florance: ~~OUCHIES~~
Wise Snake: Okay okay!! I'm coming.
Wise Snake hurries back to the woman lying on the ground.
Florance: Oh dear!
Katryn: Now, why don't you sit down and let me zlin your arm.
Veegiee sits.
Veegiee: OOooo!!
Florance starts to sob.
Florance: My husband will be SO ANGRY with me!!!
Katryn motions to the gurney.
Veegiee: ~~ouch~~
Wise Snake: Uh... okay, just stay as still as possible.
Katryn grits her teeth.
Wise Snake: Let me zlin you okay?
Katryn: Mytag, please get some more fosebine.
Muttley continues on down the street, heading away from the Sime Center.
Wise Snake zlins the fallen Gen.
Katryn zlins Veegiee's arm closely.
Florance: [back badly jarred]
Veegiee has a complete break, which separated.
Katryn: Ah well, I see the bones aren't exactly aligned this time.
Mytag thinks this seems familiar.
Veegiee: Oh no!!! How long am I gonna live?
Veegiee: Am I gonna die of attrition?
Veegiee: Is it going to hurt the entire time?
Veegiee: Can you give me something to make me die faster?
Florance: Ohh is it broken?!
Wise Snake: Um, no, it's not broken, but.....
Katryn: You'll be fine.
Katryn: Just caaaaalm down.
Katryn feels a bit harried.
Katryn is still enthusiastic that she is getting to do so much.
Mytag keeps Katryn as centered as possible under the circumstances.
Wise Snake: You will require some medical attention, though.
Florance: Oh it hurts!
Wise Snake: I know, I know. Believe me.
Florance: DON'T MOVE ME!
Wise Snake winces.
Muttley spots a bit of excitement up ahead and heads in that general direction.
Florance: Please, please.
Florance: ~~ hurties ~~
Wise Snake: Um, you're going to freeze to death if you stay lying out in the street like this.
Wise Snake is tempted to leave her as requested.
Florance: Oh, but it hurts.
Wise Snake thinks of the time, and winces.
Florance has tears running down her face.
Wise Snake: Yes, you should be examined by a channel.
Wise Snake: Let me bring you to the Sime Center.
Florance: Are you a channel?
Wise Snake has never passed by so much work in a single day in her entire life.
Wise Snake: Yes, I am. Would you let me help you?
Florance: Oh yes, please!
Katryn: Mytag, can you, uh, hold his lower arm?
Wise Snake: Okay, just lie here and try to remain calm.
Wise Snake: I'll find a way to move you without making your back worse okay?
Mytag takes hold of the swollen upper arm gently.
Wise Snake: Do you want a pain killer?
Muttley stops to take a drink from a puddle of water.
Veegiee: OWwwww!!!
Veegiee: ~~~ow~~~
Katryn: Now, this is going to hurt just a little bit.
Florance: Yes please!
Katryn: Hold him steaeadddy...uh, Mytag.
Wise Snake sighs, removes the medical satchel, and finds some fosebine.
Wise Snake gives Florance a dose.
Mytag: Got him.
Wise Snake: This'll take a few minutes to kick in, but when it does, you'll really notice a difference.
Katryn wraps a tentacle above and then her other tentacles below the break.
Muttley walks up behind Snake and attempts to lick her arm.
Wise Snake jumps wildly.
Wise Snake: What the....
Florance: Oh thank you thank you.
Katryn augments, pulling the bones and lining them up, zlinning to place them correctly.
Florance: Oohhh!!!
Wise Snake turns and realizes the hot, wet thing that just wiped itself across her sheathes was a dog's tongue.
Florance: ~fear~
Florance: Keep the dog away!
Florance: I'm scared ~terrified~ of dogs!
Muttley: Woof [happily].
Wise Snake: Okay, okay. Just keep calm.
Florance: Shoooh shoooh horrid dog! ~~ ouch!!! Fear ~~
Wise Snake gets up.
Muttley try's to lick Florence on the face.
Florance attempts to move away from the dog, hurting her back and radiating fear and pain.
Wise Snake grits her teeth, then digs in her pocket for one of those horse tranquilizers.
Wise Snake kneels beside Florence, showing her the pill.
Wise Snake: See this? This is a horse tranquilizer. I don't want to have to use it on you.
Mytag holds steady support.
Muttley walks over to the nearest horse buggy, and raises leg on the wheel.
Florance kicks her legs madly, increasing her pain.
Florance: Oh, oh, is it gone?
Wise Snake: YES it's gone.
Muttley: [The resulting stream heads in Florance's general direction.]
Florance sobs with relief.
Wise Snake fails to notice the stream of pee.
Wise Snake gets up and hurries away for a few minutes.
Muttley finishes marking the wheel and bounds back over to Florence.
Katryn helps assist Veegiee to lie down
Veegiee looks green.
Veegiee: Oh... that was....
Katryn: Now, I'll just put the cast on your arm.
Florance: don't leave me!
Florance: the dog might come back!
Katryn goes over and wets some plaster strips and grabs the cloth and cotton, looking a bit green herself.
Wise Snake comes back some time later, carrying a plank, some ropes, a blanket, and looking much more tranquil.
Wise Snake scratches the dog's head absently.
Florance screams.
Wise Snake sets the board down beside Florance.
Katryn moves back over and slips the shirt off Veegiee's shoulder.
Wise Snake: Would you like me to put you to sleep?
Florance: Get the dog away!!!!
Florance: Away bad dog!
Veegiee whimpers.
Florance: ~ fear ~
Veegiee looks at Katryn with big sad eyes.
Katryn: Now, Mytag, hold his arm straight.
Katryn: No no...It has to be bent at the elbow, the upper part straight.
Katryn: And I'll slip this on.
Mytag holds the arm correctly being a little more experienced as a therapist then Katryn is.
Katryn makes holes so the tentacles and sheaths have plenty of room and aren't mashed by the cloth.
Wise Snake pushes the dog away, concentrating on getting the board lined up with Florence's body.
Katryn: Why are you looking at me like that?
Katryn asks this of Veegiee.
Wise Snake: Okay, what I'm going to do here is just lift you up enough to move this board underneath you.
Veegiee: Am I gonna die?
Muttley suddenly smells cat and goes chasing after the scent.
Wise Snake slides the board underneath Florance.
Florance: Oh - oh - do you have to?
Wise Snake zlins to make sure she isn't damaging Florance's back by moving her that short distance.
Florance: It will hurt!
Florance groans.
Wise Snake wraps the blanket around Florance, then ties her to the board.
Wise Snake: This is just so your back won't get jarred. It'll actually hurt less this way, trust me.
Wise Snake hoists the board with Florance on it, and begins to trudge back to the SIme Center bent under the load.
Wise Snake thinks something is terribly wrong with her lifestyle if she is spending this much time weight lifting.
Florance clings to the board in fear of falling off.
Wise Snake is pretty sure she knows how to tie a good knot so concentrates on getting to the Sime Center as quickly (and smoothly) as possible.
Wise Snake's balance is somewhat hampered by Florance's struggles.
Wise Snake grips the board and continues doggedly.
Katryn: You aren't going to die.
Veegiee nods and closes his eyes.
Katryn wraps the cotton around the shoulder and arm, down, weaving it gracefully around the tentacles.
Katryn then picks up the plaster strips.
Katryn begins to hum, going hypo to avoid zlinning the pain.
Katryn hums as she wraps the plaster around the upper part of the shoulder
Katryn: So, tell me, Veegiee, what do you do for a living?
Wise Snake approaches the Sime Center, eyes locked grimly on its door.
Katryn goes back to humming under her breath as she wraps
Veegiee: I'm unemployed right now.
Veegiee: I was just helping my uncle bring home some firewood when I slipped.
Wise Snake steps carefully up the front steps, then tries to reach for the handle of the front door.
Wise Snake: [board sticks out too far]
Wise Snake: Shen.
Wise Snake turns carefully, trying to get as close to the door as possible without jarring Florance.
Katryn: Well, you won't be carrying much firewood with your arm like this.
Katryn uses her field to help Veegiee's arm heal.
Katryn picks up another wet strip of plaster, pausing to zlin and make sure the arm is still properly lined up.
Veegiee: Great, now my uncle will be even less happy to have me hanging around.
Wise Snake hooks the door open and blocks it farther open with her heel.
Katryn: Good news is, nothing major is hurt in the arm like the selyn transport nerves...or such....
Katryn smiles
Katryn continues to wrap the plaster.
Wise Snake rotates slowly so the board is aligned inward, checks the height, then carefully carries Florance in.
Katryn: I'm sure there are other things you can do.
Veegiee: Oh!!!! Good.
Veegiee: He'll probably make me watch his kids.
Veegiee looks dismayed at the thought.
Katryn: Do you know, I heard they are hiring people to help haul trash away and clean up the local park as well as other beautification projects.
Katryn: You might go check with the local city government.
Wise Snake sets the board, with Florance on it, on a couch.
Wise Snake goes to the front desk and signs Florance in.
Wise Snake goes back to Florance.
Florance shrieks with fright at the change in elevation.
Wise Snake: A channel will be there to see you shortly. If you need anything else, just call out and the clerk will see to your needs.
Florance: Oohhh thank you thank you for your help!
Katryn finishes up with the arm.
Katryn: Now, you'll have to lay here for fifteen minutes until this finishes setting.
Katryn: Then you'll be free to go.
Katryn goes over and fills out a prescription for a pain killer and brings it back.
Wise Snake leaves the Sime Center.
Mytag thinks he has had his fill of breaks today.
Wise Snake hurries down the front walk, determined to get to the Ferry Building in time that Rapol isn't ready to leave her.
Veegiee: Thank you.
Ginky is a young male Gen, just past Establishment.
Katryn goes over and washes up again.
Ginky walks out of the grocer's carrying a bag of food.
Katryn: Be sure and stop by our pharmacy and get that prescription filled.
Wise Snake runs a hand through her skaggly black hair, trying to think of some legitimate reason she would have had to leave Rapol at the Ferry Building for... an hour and 43 minutes now.
Veegiee: I will.
Ginky walks across the road only to be startled by a passing cab.
Ginky: Ahhhhh....
Eve is another young gen, with Ginky.
Eve trots to keep up with him.
Wise Snake hurries along, not looking at or zlinning anything.
Eve bangs into him as he bounces back away from the cab.
Ginky jumps back and only to slip on some ice.
Eve clings to Ginky, trying not to fall....
Katryn leaves the room and goes to the cafeteria for a cup of tea.
Ginky: Ahhh!
Ginky: [Ginky grabs for the nearest thing to hold which happens to be Eve's arm.]
Wise Snake nearly gets run over by a cab and thinks those drivers are getting worse and worse.
Eve kicks wildly, connecting very solidly with a very tender part of Ginky's anatomy and falls, twisting as she does.
Eve: Oohhhh ~~ pain and a sense of deflation ~~
Ginky: Ahhh.... [Lands on one side, and partially on top of Eve]
Wise Snake starts in alarm as, despite her best efforts, she hears thumps and cries of pain.
Eve gasps.
Eve: ~~ Sharp stabbing pain ~~
Ginky: My arm!
Wise Snake: I didn't hear that, I didn't hear that, I didn't... oh, shen. [sees them]
Ginky: ~~ sharp pain ~~
Ginky: [Food everywhere, and left arm is bent at a weird angle]
Wise Snake stops, resigned.
Wise Snake goes over to the two.
Wise Snake zlins them briefly, then turns and hails a cab.
Ginky: Owwwwwww.
Eve is clutching her chest and groaning.
Wise Snake thinks, these are the LAST ONES. She's going to take this cab back from the Sime Center to the Ferry Building, so she won't be able to see any more accidents.
Wise Snake: Here... let me help.
Wise Snake zlins them, then goes to Eve first.
Wise Snake: Oh, shen!
Eve: Oooohhhhhh
Eve: ~~ oooohhhh ~~
Wise Snake: [to Ginky] Can you get into the cab on your own?
Eve: something is funny
Eve: oooohhhh
Ginky doubles up as the pain from his groin starts to take precedence over the pain from his arm.
Wise Snake picks up Eve carefully, using her field to stabilize Eve's systems.
Eve: [slap slap of a deflated lung]
Wise Snake puts Eve in the cab and then returns to Ginky.
Wise Snake zlins Ginky.
Ginky: Ahhhhhh... I dunno.
Wise Snake picks up Ginky and puts him in there too.
Wise Snake: Sime Center! Hurry. I mean, within reason!
Wise Snake: [that last part shouted as the coach lurches off]
Ginky: ~~ Broken lower left arm, and severely bruised groin ~~
Wise Snake crouches over Eve on the floor of the cab.
Wise Snake zlins the damage.
Wise Snake: Ucch... this is going to take forever.
Wise Snake: Cabbie! Cabbie!! Turn around. Go to the Ferry Building instead.
Ginky: Who are you?
Wise Snake manages to brace herself just in time to avoid slamming the side of the cab with her face.
Eve: Oooohhhh
Eve: [slap slap]
Wise Snake: I'm a channel. I can help you.
Eve: Oooooohhhh.
Wise Snake slips into healing mode, concentrating on the lung injury.
Eliza looks around the center for the dog.
Eliza whistles for him then changes it into a tune as people start to look at her strangely.
Wise Snake zlins the broken ribs.
Eve: Ooooh Ginky! It hurts, Ginky.
Wise Snake: Don't talk!!
Wise Snake really wishes she had a Donor to support her right now.
Eve's eyes flutter, then cross.
Eliza checks the kitchen.
Ginky: Don't worry, Eve, I'll be here with you. Ouch. [As broken arm bangs against the side of the cab]
Wise Snake is forced to zlin all of it.
Wise Snake is truly and wholly repentant about having left without a Donor.
Ginky: ~~ agony ~~
Wise Snake uses tentacles to prod the broken ribs into place and hold them.
Wise Snake has only done this once or twice before and never did find out if she'd done it right.
Wise Snake concentrates a healing field on the lung first.
Eve feels really odd and empty inside.
Wise Snake is hard put to do this while in a lurching cab.
Ginky looks over at Eve.
Ginky: Are you OK Evie?
Ginky: [Trying to think of anything but his own pain, and hoping that he is going somewhere safe where he can be treated.]
Eve: I think I'm okay....
Wise Snake: Don't talk!
Wise Snake: Shen....
Wise Snake: [coming duoconscious]
Eve looks at Snake for confirmation.
Wise Snake: You'll be just fine.
Wise Snake having no idea if this is the case or not.
Wise Snake: Confound it. Cabbie!! Driver... just stop right here. Pull over.
Wise Snake: I can't do a thing with all this shenned jostling.
Wise Snake feels like things are out of her control right now.
Wise Snake holds Eve's ribs with one hand while groping for the medical kit with the other.
Wise Snake pulls out a knife and a slim tube.
Wise Snake: This is going to hurt me a lot more than you.
Eve sees the knife and shrieks.
Wise Snake waits until the cab has stopped (and she has reassured the driver several times he will get paid for all of this) then zlins for the air pocket in Eve's chest cavity.
Eve promptly passes out.
Wise Snake: Shhhh.... sh... ah, good.
Wise Snake normally would prefer the patient remain conscious, but in this case it is just as well.
Ginky jumps at the sight of the knife.
Wise Snake: She had a collapsed lung. I have to insert a tube to draw out the air outside the lung. [explains to Ginky]
Ginky: What are you going to do her? Not my poor Evie.
Wise Snake: She'll be just fine. Trust me, you don't want a bunch of air where it doesn't belong.
Wise Snake positions the knife, starts to cut through, then at the last minute chickens out and goes hypo as she does it.
Wise Snake: Ucchh!!! [quivering with revulsion]
Wise Snake quickly inserts the tube before she loses her nerve, and draws the air out.
Ginky closes his eyes.
Wise Snake then withdraws the tube, and concentrates on healing the slit she made, and the ribs, and more on the lung.
Wise Snake is oblivious to the real world for some time.
Ginky opens one eye to see what that horrible Sime has done to his poor girl friend.
Wise Snake comes out of healing-mode and pushes herself up in the cab's cramped interior, rummages in the medical kit for one of the larger bandages.
Wise Snake sees the look Ginky is giving her.
Wise Snake: She'll be just fine. She had broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Wise Snake: She's partially healed now. I'll have to wrap up her ribs to reduce the strain on them.
Wise Snake finds the wrap and carefully sits the unconscious Eve up, starts wrapping the ribs.
Ginky: Ahhh.. Okay, I guess.
Wise Snake: Do you live with her?
Ginky: Not really, I've got a place down at the end of Walnut Street, but it's to small for anyone else to move in. Evie spends a lot of time with me though.
Wise Snake: You'll want to make sure she takes it easy, and if possible get her to go in to the Sime Center once or twice to get more healing and checked up on, okay?
Wise Snake finishes wrapping up Eve and lays her back down on the floor.
Wise Snake pulls the Gen's shirt and coat back down so she won't catch a chill (hopefully).
Wise Snake zlins Ginky.
Ginky: Yeh Ok, but uhm can you do something for me?
Wise Snake: Yes, now that her life is out of danger.
Ginky: ~~pain~~
Wise Snake climbs awkwardly over to Ginky.
Wise Snake: Thank you for waiting.
Wise Snake zlins Ginky's arm, and er, other injury.
Wise Snake: Okay... no permanent damage here.
Ginky: Evie deserved to get helped first, but I don't like pain more than anyone else.
Ginky: [holds out his injured arm]
Wise Snake: I know. I can feel every bit of what you're feeling.
Ginky: ~~rising hope that his pain may soon go~~
Wise Snake rummages in the medical kit and finds the splinting materials, in addition to the fosebine.
Wise Snake: Here... drink this.
Wise Snake: It's fosebine.
Ginky: Okay, thanks.... Yeeech, that taste.
Wise Snake takes Ginky's arm in two places.
Wise Snake: You're not going to like this bit. Sorry.
Ginky: ~~ pain starts to settle as the fosebine takes effect ~~
Wise Snake manages to get the arm lined up right on the third try.
Wise Snake is slightly hampered by the fact that she's trying not to zlin.
Ginky starts to become resigned to the fact that his arm is going to hurt for a while.
Wise Snake uses the field splint to truss up his arm to stay in position.
Ginky: [so he doesn't jump all that much as his arm is jarred around]
Wise Snake: I'll be able to start this healing, but you may want to stop in at the Sime Center a couple times also to get it checked on.
Alea gets up and walks through the building to find the bathroom.
Briel walks into the lobby and stops dead.
Briel: What the shenned....
Briel thinks it looks like a battle has taken place in here.
Ginky: Ah. Okay.
Briel: [to Clerk] Get someone in here to mop this floor and straighten up this lobby.
Wise Snake slips into healing mode and concentrates on the arm, healing it as much as is practical under the circumstances.
Alea smiles when she finds the bathroom.
Wise Snake moves her attention down to his bruised, but fortunately not ruptured, other injury.
Alea rubs her tummy, her smile turning soft as she thinks about the young life in her that is causing her all of these minor problems.
Wise Snake heals much of the damage.
Wise Snake: [holding her laterals close over the injury]
Wise Snake comes duoconscious again.
Wise Snake: Walnut street, you say?
Wise Snake: Is it the green house, or the white one?
Ginky starts to feel tired as the fosebine takes the edge off the pain.
Wise Snake thinks those are the only two as small as he describes.
Alea finishes up and washes her hands, smoothing her bright pink skirt and top over her enlarged tummy.
Ginky: It's in the green house down the end. The place is pretty messy inside, but hey it's better than nothing.
Ginky watches as Snake continues her work.
Wise Snake finishes up.
Wise Snake: Ok... let me drop you off there.
Wise Snake calls the instructions to the driver.
Briel turns toward the infirmary and is absolutely astounded to find that Katryn tried to handle all of this alone and is absolutely exhausted, and sleeping on a transfer lounge.
Wise Snake finds more fosebine.
Briel shakes her head in disgust.
Wise Snake: Here, use more of this as necessary. No more than once every four or five hours though, okay?
Briel: I take a short break with my Donor and what happens?
Briel: The whole Center goes to the Tecton in a handbasket.
Ginky: I doubt if I could drink that more than every 4 or 5 hours... that stuff's foul. It does work, though.
Wise Snake directs the cab to the house in question, on Walnut street.
Wise Snake: Do you know your neighbors? Friendly with them?
Alea goes back over and seats herself on the banana.
Wise Snake: Is there anybody I can ask to check up on you two?
Wise Snake: Just in the next few hours.
Alea eyes Toi Toi suspiciously.
Toi Toi looks at Alea.
Ginky: Thank you.. The old women next door will do it, she watches me anyway.
Wise Snake: Great.
Wise Snake looks up as the cab swings to a stop.
Wise Snake: I'll carry your friend.
Wise Snake: What's your name, by the way?
Ginky: If there's ever anything I can do to repay you, [as he starts to get out]
Alea: She's not here, is she?
Toi Toi grins weakly.
Toi Toi: Er... no.
Ginky: My name's Ginky. And yours?
Toi Toi: But I wasn't supposed to tell anybody that.
Alea: You just wanted me to have to sit here so you could enjoy yourself at my expense.
Toi Toi: She was supposed to be back an hour ago!
Alea: Oh.
Toi Toi: I was just told not to let anybody go upstairs until she got back.
Alea blushes... then pales
Alea: She what?
Alea: Well, let's not panic... I mean, Nick or Rapol are with her.
Alea: I'm sure she'll be fine.
Toi Toi: She said it would only be a half hour.. it's been at least ... [looks at her watch] 2 hours!!
Alea: Well, perhaps she found some work... though she was supposed to zlin me today....
Toi Toi: That's... [pauses, then censors her own words] ... of course, a Donor is with her. Of course.
Alea: So, tell me....
Alea trails off.
Wise Snake: I'm Snake.
Wise Snake picks up Eve and carries her to Ginky's door, following him.
Alea: Oh, no... no... please... after all the lectures she has given me.... tell me she didn't go out alone
Wise Snake: You feel up to talking to your neighbor, or should I?
Alea is shaking her head in a negative direction even though she is certain she has hit upon why Toi Toi has been acting so oddly.
Ginky walks inside and makes room on the couch for Evie to lie down.
Alea: She's been having... odd happenings... she can't have done that.
Toi Toi: Oh no! She, er,
Toi Toi: I don't know? [tries]
Alea struggles up, grumbling at how slow she is and waddles over to the desk.
Alea: Yes?
Ginky: I'll do it, but in a couple of minutes. For now I just wan't to sit somewhere that doesn't jar.
Alea: No!
Alea: You do know.
Alea: They're both upstairs aren't they?
Alea: And that's why you had to keep everyone away.
Alea: Oh shen!
Alea begins to pace.
Alea: And she's been gone TWO HOURS instead of half an hour... shen shen shen... why does she do this?
Alea: She's a Farris. Farrises all do this. I should know that. I'm a Farris.
Alea: It's just in the Farris nature to think you can handle it all without any help.
Toi Toi: She just had to do something that...er...
Ginky puts that kettle on and starts to make himself a cup of trin, not thinking to offer Snake one.
Wise Snake puts Eve on a couch, then takes her leave of Ginky.
Wise Snake climbs back in the cab and directs the driver to the Ferry Building.
Alea: What did she have to do?
Wise Snake closes her eyes, plugs her ears, and goes hypo for the duration of the journey.
Toi Toi: Um.... just had to go meet somebody.
Alea thinks of the rumors that Snake... and her male friend....
Toi Toi: For a few minutes. There was some reason she had to do it alone.
Toi Toi: She was only supposed to be gone 20 minutes!
Alea: Who was she meeting?
Toi Toi: I don't know.
Toi Toi thinks, some sleazy drug connection no doubt.
Alea: Do you have any idea which direction she went?
Toi Toi: I wouldn't know anything like that.
Toi Toi: I just take messages for her, and watch the door.
Wise Snake pays the driver (a substantial amount) as she leaves the cab.
Wise Snake zlins warily about for accident victims, then steps out of the cab.
Rattius pokes his head out of his rathole keeping a wary eye out for cats.
Wise Snake hurries to the door and unlocks it, slips inside.
Alea: I see.
Wise Snake: Alea!
Wise Snake: [surprised]
Alea turns to leave.
Rattius is a rather mangy large rat.
Alea: Snake!
Wise Snake reflexively feels guilt, then realizes Alea wouldn't know anything about it.
Wise Snake: ~~relief~~
Alea plops her hands on her tummy and looks reproachfully at Snake giving her a very motherly look even though she isn't a mother yet.
Rattius runs across the ground floor of the Ferry Building heading in the general direction of the stairs.
Alea: You shouldn't have gone out alone, Snake... it can be dangerous.
Wise Snake: What makes you think I was... [uneasily] ... well anyway, why were YOU out alone?
Rattius runs across Alea's shoes.
Alea: I... OH!
Alea sees the rat and screams, jumping straight up.
Alea lands on Toi Toi's desk
Alea: [sending papers, ink pot and other miscellaneous things flying]
Wise Snake, who had been almost leaning on Alea's field, goes rigid with shock.
Toi Toi: You!!! What the...?
Toi Toi: Get off my desk!
Alea: RAAAAAT!
Alea: Rat Rat Rat!
Toi Toi: Same to you and more of it, you desk-wrecking hussy!
Toi Toi shoves at Alea.
Alea is breathing harshly, the word coming out on each breath.
Rattius heads for the general direction of the banana.
Alea: Ra--husseeeeee...?! [falls off the desk]
Alea hits the floor with a thud.
Alea ~~ pain ~~
Wise Snake sits down rather suddenly on the banana, still staring with a shocked expression.
Alea ~~ outrage ~~
Alea rolls over and pushes slowly up.
Toi Toi: Look at this mess!
Alea: How could you push a pregnant woman to the floor and in front of a CHANNEL!
Toi Toi starts picking up papers, etc. off the floor.
Rattius scurries up onto the banana peering around Snake towards Alea.
Alea turns back toward snake and goes rigid with fear.
Toi Toi: The desk is not an appropriate place for you to stand!
Alea: Behind your leg Snake!
Alea: Don't let it bite you!
Alea waves her injured hand that is wrapped in gauze at Snake.
Wise Snake thinks rodentia are the least of her worries right now.
Wise Snake: Alea... [pathetically] could you control your nager? And... please keep your voice down.
Toi Toi snatches at a piece of paper Alea is standing on.
Alea: Oh... oh... oh dear!
Alea immediately pulls her nager under control and hurries toward Snake.
Rattius decides to try Snake's legs out for taste and bites.
Alea winces in pain as her hip protests each step.
Wise Snake: Ow!
Alea: Oh no!
Wise Snake jumps away from the banana.
Alea hurries forward and grabs up a nearby broom hitting Rattius over the head.
Alea: Take that you... you carnivorous rat you!
Rattius staggers over Alea's feet [again].
Alea thinks that's a high insult since she nor simes eat meat.
Alea: Oh... ugh.
Alea is very thankful she just went to the bathroom or she would have had an accident at the feel of those sharp little claws going across her foot.
Rattius starts leaving a trail of rat droppings behind him.
Alea makes a sweeping motion with the broom, swinging it hard enough to toss the rat up into the air, right toward Toi Toi.
Alea: Ooh ugh... droppings.
Alea: Snake?
Alea turns to Snake to examine her leg.
Rattius lands on the desk in front of Toi Toi.
Alea kneels down to look at Snake's leg.
Toi Toi ineffectually attempts to smash Rattius with a sheaf of folders.
Toi Toi: [flap flap flap]
Alea: How are you? Is you leg okay?
Wise Snake sits down on the banana once again, this time holding her head.
Alea hopes the rat doesn't bite Toi Toi if it values its life.
Wise Snake: Yes, yes, It's just a rat bite. Didn't even draw blood.
Rattius starts feeling a bit unwell.
Wise Snake looks down.
Alea notes the signs of oncoming Snake headaches.
Wise Snake: Well, maybe it did draw blood.
Alea ~~ soothing ~~
Wise Snake examines her ankle.
Wise Snake wonders what effect her blood, which is less than pure at the best of times, will have on the rat's constitution.
Rattius starts feeling very unwell and no longer particularly cares where he is.
Wise Snake stops the bleeding, then wipes the bead of blood off.
Wise Snake: I'm fine. Just... a big slam of terror and outrage was not what I needed right at that moment.
Rattius starts seeing pink cats.
Alea ~~ soothing ~~ reaches out and lays a hand over Snake's tentacles
Alea: You've had a hard morning, haven't you, Snake?
Wise Snake shivers, and leans against Alea's soothing nager.
Wise Snake: Yes. Yes, I have actually.
Wise Snake hadn't even been aware it was morning.
Alea: It'll be okay.
Alea: You'll be just fine.
Rattius runs off the edge of the desk and lands on Toi Toi's lap.
Toi Toi stands up quickly in disgust, dumping the rat on the floor.
Toi Toi: I must insist you get an exterminator in here as soon as possible!
Toi Toi: [to Snake, disapprovingly and disgustedly]
Alea turns her head to glare at Toi Toi though she keeps her field rigidly under control
Rattius tries to run up Toi Toi's leg.
Wise Snake: Yes... yes. [waves a tentacle in Toi Toi's direction, with her eyes closed and massaging her temples.]
Toi Toi stamps at the rat with her high heels.
Alea struggles up and moves around behind the banana couch to rub Snake's neck.
Toi Toi: This is really too much! [stab stab stamp]
Wise Snake: Ah... Ahh.
Alea uses all of her training to work to relieve Snake's tense muscles and stave off the headache.
Rattius avoids the stamps, but more because he is running aimlessly in circles than any other reason.
Alea adds nageric with it.
Toi Toi picks up her wastepaper basket and tries to shoo the rat inside it.
Toi Toi: [distaste, using the sheaf of folders as a shoo-in device]
Rattius takes off in the other direction, only to trip over his front paws.
Alea: You should get Rapol or Nick to do this for you, Snake.
Alea: It might help your headaches.
Wise Snake: Unnnnhhhh.... [headache returning with a vengeance as she is reminded that neither Donor yet knows she's back]
Alea: I bet Rapol knows how to do this, and Nick can certainly be trained.
Wise Snake: Yes, yes, they do it.
Alea: Shhh, Snake... yes, good, now just relax. Stop tensing up on me.
Toi Toi uses the folders as a shovel to scoop the rat into the waste paper basket.
Toi Toi looks at the rat oddly.
Alea ~~ soothing relaxation ~~
Toi Toi thinks it isn't acting too normal just at the moment.
Rattius pokes his head over the rim and watches Toi Toi with interest to see what she's going to do next.
Toi Toi carries the waste paper basket to the front door.
Wise Snake: Shen, Alea. I tried to get back on time, I really did.
Rattius starts to think he may be in love with Toi Toi.
Wise Snake: I kept running into these accident victims... TELL me you're not walking in this icy weather.
Alea: It's fine, Snake, just fine. Of course you did.
Toi Toi opens the door, then takes the wastepaper basket firmly in two hands.
Alea: No, of course not. I wouldn't risk the baby like that. I took a cab.
Wise Snake: Good.
Alea: And I don't mind waiting. I'm sure you had something that required immediate attention.
Rattius runs up Toi Toi's arm, or at least tries to. He actually get part way and then lands on the floor.
Toi Toi nudges the rat out the door with her foot.
Alea: And of course, there was a perfectly logical reason why you didn't take a Donor.
Toi Toi: Ugh. Creepy things.
Wise Snake: Shen, there are some things even Nick and Rapol shouldn't see.
Wise Snake: It was only supposed to take 10 minutes!
Kadi arches her back and hisses at the rat that is tossed outside.
Kadi bounds inside, and right up Toi Toi's leg.
Rattius hears the cat and stops moving.
Alea: You can't carry the whole world on your shoulders, Snake.
Wise Snake: I didn't know I was going to run into Mr. Broken Leg and Mr. Broken Arm and Miz Broken Back and Miz Collapsed Lung and Broken Ribs and Mr. Busted Balls and Busted Arm.
Kadi runs right back down and bounds back toward the rat.
Wise Snake: I didn't try to! I took most of them to the Sime Center, until they started falling behind.
Kadi arches her back and hisses again.
Toi Toi glares as her hose is torn up by the cat's claws.
Alea: Oh dear....
Toi Toi: That's it! I'm asking for a raise!
Rattius feeling 2 foot high and zlin proof heads straight for the cat.
Kadi runs in circles around the rat, hissing and jumping.
Toi Toi: [this is the 17th time she's shrieked that since she started her job only a week or two earlier]
Toi Toi slams the door.
Kadi has had a tad too much catnip.
Kadi runs straight at the rat.
Rattius tries to work out which cat to attack.
Alea: I am sorry you had such a hard time, Snake.
Wise Snake looks at the door.
Wise Snake: Did I see her just lock the cat out?
Alea: Shall we get you upstairs before Rapol or Nick note you're missing.
Wise Snake tries to climb to her feet.
Kadi jumps at the last minute and flies OVER the rat.
Kadi lands on all fours and does a quick stop and turnabout.
Wise Snake: Let me go.. I have to let the cat in.
Alea: The cat?
Alea: Which cat?
Wise Snake: Alea will kill me if the cat gets lost.
Alea: Not... MY cat?
Alea releases Snake.
Alea grabs Snake.
Wise Snake finally gets free of Alea and goes to the door, pulling it open.
Wise Snake: Stop it!
Rattius heads straight towards a likely cat, which happens to be in the general direction of the door.
Wise Snake: Don't grab me.
Alea: Snake... it is me.
Alea releases her.
Wise Snake heads for the cat.
Kadi hisses and jumps again.
Wise Snake: Come on, Kadi... go back inside... shen.
Kadi makes a flying leap at the rat...and ends up slamming into Snake.
Kadi: Meooooooorrrrrrrwwwwww!
Wise Snake augments to catch Kadi, carefully avoiding all claws.
Kadi tumbles in circles, landing on her feet of course.
Rattius see's his one true love and heads in Toi Toi's general direction.
Wise Snake carries the cat back into the Ferry Building.
Kadi scrabbles, and realizes she isn't on the floor at all but in Snake's arms.
Alea: Oh, Kadi!
Rattius tries to work out what he's doing outside the building.
Alea looks at Snake.
Alea: Put that cat down.
Wise Snake looks at Alea, then drops the cat.
Alea: Right now Snake!
Wise Snake: [hastily]
Alea: That's it.
Alea marches forward
Wise Snake closes the door.
Alea: You're going upstairs.
Wise Snake: What?
Alea: NOW.
Alea: You are ALLERGIC to cats.
Alea: What the shenned are you doing trying to carry it around?
Alea: I'm putting you to bed.
Wise Snake: So it wouldn't get lost....
Alea: You're ill.
Wise Snake: What?!
Alea shakes her head.
Alea: You tell me Alea will be upset. You carry the cat around.
Wise Snake: But....
Alea: Yes, you are sick.
Alea: And I am worried about you.
Wise Snake points after the cat.
Wise Snake: But....
Wise Snake sighs.
Wise Snake: Look, Alea, there's nothing to be worried about.
Alea reaches up and puts her hand on Snake's forehead.
Rattius scrambles in through his back door, and falls asleep dreaming of his one true love.
Wise Snake: I know you're overprotective because you're a Donor, and that's okay, but, really I'm okay.
Alea ~~ worry ~~
Alea: are you sure?
Toi Toi: Excuse me!! [for the 3rd time, to Snake and Alea]
Alea glances over at Toi Toi.
Alea: Yes?
Toi Toi: I am not going to work one more minute until you give me a raise! [to Snake]
Toi Toi: [to Alea] Tell her I need a raise. You've seen what happens here!
Kadi flops down on the yellow couch and rolls back and forth back and forth, before finally falling asleep.
Wise Snake closes her eyes, pressing the fingertips of one hand against her forehead.
Alea: What happens here?
Alea ~~ confusion ~~
Toi Toi: Everything! You... customers... rats....
Alea ~~ sooothing ~~
Alea: Me?
Alea narrows her eyes.
Toi Toi: Drug dealers leaving samples, construction supply companies breaking windows trying to get in and scope out the place....
Alea: Well, you could always go apply at the Sime Center, if you think this is bad.
Alea: They're always looking for a good Desk Clerk.
Wise Snake decides she's ready to face Nick and/or Rapol's wrath rather than this, and slips away up the stairs.
Alea doesn't think she'd last a day.
Alea: Snake!
Toi Toi: Hey! Where are you going!!
Alea turns to hurry after her.
Toi Toi: Shen! This place is ---
Wise Snake: Alea.. I'm fine.
Alea goes up the stairs after Snake.
Wise Snake doesn't want to have to deal with Rapol, Nick AND Alea all lecturing her at once.
Wise Snake: Please... I'm fine.
Alea is confused and stops on the stairs.
Alea: Of course you are.
Wise Snake: Thank you for... was there something you came here for?
Alea: Uh, well... no. No.
Alea: You just go on upstairs and rest.
Alea: If I were you, I wouldn't mention to Rapol or Nick you were gone.
Wise Snake: I won't.
Wise Snake: Thank you.
Alea: Just go on up and take some medication... and rest.
Wise Snake dares hope they don't already know, since they weren't hanging around downstairs by the door.
Wise Snake: Good bye, then.
Alea turns and heads down the stairs forcing her earlier worry about the baby aside and thinking there will be another day to talk to Snake.
Alea: Goodbye.
Alea crosses toward the door and waits for Toi Toi to let her out.
Alea: Uh, Toi Toi?
Alea: Can you let me out?
Toi Toi: Oh.
Toi Toi gets up and lets Alea out.
Wise Snake slips up the stairs.
Alea goes out the door.
Alea walks down to the dock and sits down, slipping a hand to her stomach and just watching the activities.
